Hey guys,

I've been working for a truck for a while now, and I think I'm a little proud. My first intention was to built a Peterbilt 379. I started building but after al I don't want to call it a Peterbilt anymore, because in my eyes it doesn't show that much resemblence. in the progress I faced some problems. The first real problem was the space between the wheels at the rear. I wanted to drive it by a XL motor, and also dubble-air at the rear axles. following the scale I only had 4 studs between the wheels, and the differentials were 3. Then you have to work with half studs and I didn't manage to build it a way the gears didn't grind. so I removed the differentials and decided to build it non-PF. the only function was steering and so it is now. when the body was finished I wanted to do something more. On the rear I build a rack for woodlogs. A crane was also build but shortly after removed because the functions didn't work as i intended. By writing this post I do think of a modular system on the rear so that the rack can be removed and a Fifth-wheel can be placed. I like to see some criticism from you guys and ideas what to change or exchange.

Very nice indeed ! Can you try to use the Model Team tires, as I noticed you have it one at the back of the cabin as spear.

Just for a look, if you have 10 of them use them for photo :)

i really dig the looks of this truck, nice job

Only thing is that i think the roofline is a stud or so to high from the bonnet.

Maybe you could build a sleeper module so you get more room for the components.

well, when I ordered theses tires i didn't intended to have one spare at the back so I used the smaller one you are talking about. keep in mind that one is smaller than the ones on the axles

yup you're right I heard it from more people. I'm trying to change that as quickly as possible and I wil post some photos of it. thanks! But a sleep-cabin is not an option for me since this is a logging truck not meant for long trips. I also prefer looks above functionality

jgw, yes I noticed this now in fact they are smaller and your truck would look a bit ridiculous, especially on the front axle... but on the other hand those that you used are a bit too wide , aren't they? Regards

yep they are, but that are the limits of lego you encounter. I did build a truck with the smaller wheels, but this build was way more fun. maybe some day I build a small one again specail for you my friend

Nice job. There are some issues with proportions, but I like the look.

jep I know. I came after it when I finished it. The mudguards are to big but that was almost not avoidable since the normal rack and pinion steering I use has a stupid pivot. Next time a Multilink like Sariels (You might have seen it) is a must. Also the cabin is to high and the doors and the chairs way to big. But I lowered the cabin -photos coming up- and that fixed a lot in my eyes. This model looks nice at first, but closer look bring some flaws in light. but hey, I'm building only for a year with technic now and am 15 years young. thanks for your feedback!

Very clean lines. I like the way you made the rounded fenders and the bushed grille.

thanks! the fenders was all Sheepo's and Nico71's idea, no idea who came up first with it. And the grille was my idea, I think

thanks guys for all the positive feedback! Love it! I made some photos of the lowered roof. Don't mind the flash, the light was really bad.

Guys,

sorry for the long silence here. I was a little busy and left the truck for what it was. But some days ago I decided to rebuild the truck.

Same design, same scale, only with some improvements. The most important is multilink steering, this means smaller fenders are possible. Photos coming up!

As you can see in the pictures below, I added some flat plates at the front. This made it al look more smooth. The fenders are also less wide, but the steering isn't finished and I have trouble making the HoG. The rear axles are the same as the previous truck, but I think they will be pendular just to make it more special. I hope you guys have tips to improve this thing to the best.
