VBBN Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Should have been like this: Or at least thats what I thoght they were going to be. :-/ Quote
legobear Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Man that is such a nice pic! Thanks VBBN! It's so interesting to look back a few decades to see how they advertised. We can see the primitive stars, isolated trees, and all the lego people together *wub* Of course I'm glad the impulse sets don't just sell two minfgs and two accessories. That being said, look at the marketing scheme, the box art is sweet :-P . Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I like the little acsessories they come with. I've seen these before: now playmobil sells individual figures just like that! X-D Quote
Batbrick Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I *wub* these! Bring them back TLC! *sing* Thanks for the pic too! TTFN! >:-) Quote
Chris Weagel Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Looks like Bill and Mary's house in the background. Great find. Quote
DB24 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Wow! I wish they had these now. Minifigs are becoming less and less frequent per set. *wub* Quote
Siegfried Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Actually I prefer the new ones and I think the current minfig number per set is good. It doesn't take long to have too many of a certain minifig. I have more than enough construction figures for example.... Quote
zeki Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 1 minifig per set is enough as you sometimes need only particular (at least i do), but there could be more packages; maybe a town folks minifigs :) As these sets are kinda ql looking at...the times when everything of LEGO was great... Quote

It doesn't take long to have too many of a certain minifig. I have more than enough construction figures for example.... I agree, the old impulses are nice, if all you're looking for is MFs and a few accessories, but the new ones are better, in my view, because, other than a very selective MF, you also get bricks (some even new, like the round 4 studs plate), very useful to build MOCs with, and not too expensive. It doesn't take long to have too many of a certain minifig. I have more than enough construction figures for example.... Ditto. I too prefer the new impulse-sets. Not only because they are sets focused around the minifig itself, but even comes with a bit of acessory, to increase play value. The old set pictured above is just "two figures with nothing", as most kids would see. There's no extra punch in it, and while it may have worked then, not a chance it would work today. Quote
Shadows Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Let's face it, low priced sets are always going to be limited in their scope. I think this round is pretty good, but ultimately, what we really want are these: We're finally getting them in Star Wars, let's hope other themes follow eventually. Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I don't really like those old Impulse's. The new ones I do indeed *sweet* But, like Imperialshadows, I prefer a group of figs, with a few accesoires. *wub* Quote
Siegfried Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I think this round is pretty good, but ultimately, what we really want are these: I used to always say the same thing, but as of late I have changed my mind. My only real complaint is that they need to sell more sets with female heads in them. Obviously though if Lego brought out those exact packs I would buy them in half second... :-D Quote
zeki Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 we miss females yes...i have 9 of them only...and 100 men...so it's 1to10 ratio...like the bosnian population after war... Quote

I still want a city women pack. What's in there, you ask? I'm glad you did! ;-) a woman grocery shopping her daughter 2 working girls. One along the lines of a mail carrier (with Indy's manbag), shop keeper, or waitress (carrying a whole damn turkey! *wub*) for Cafe Corner, the other with a less clearly defined occupation and a halter top, perhaps being hit on by some turkey *sweet* 8-| Ok, ok, I know... :-| I hereby apologize to the entire female population of the planet. Hookers Working Girls On! *y* Quote
LuxorV Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 You seem to be obsessed by turkeys, imperialshadows :-P I agree, we need more female MF. I have about 100+ MF (not counting old plain-faced ones, with only hairs to tell male from female), and only 6 are female |-/ . LuxorV Quote
andy_0306uk Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 (edited) I'd certainly like to see more MF sets with 5+ figs - especially female civilians. I bought the Community Workers set a couple of years back (expensive but fun) and hoped for females within it. I'm certainly going to be buying multiples of the Impulse sets and like the balance of bricks/accessories that go with the fig(s). They seem to give more meaning an playability to each of the characters Edited October 18, 2007 by andy_0306uk Quote
Six Wide Bob Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 More women? Perhaps Lego should do a 'Desperate Housewives' minifig pack! It would sell like hotcakes! Bob Quote
