Brickr Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Wow. A standard angry clone head? It's not like there's already an actual Boba Fett head or anything. Disappointing. Not only is it lazy, but also it also doesnt fit the scene of the carbonit chamber. In the movie Boba Fett only expressed a bit of worrying by his lines towards Vader. So either a new face where he is worried or a speculative face where he is happy to have finally "caught" Han Solo for his bounty. For that they could have used the evil grin face that was used in the UCS Slave 1 version of him. The angry face is just completely wrong and funny enough, at the same time the set features a very fitting and unique expression, meaning Han Solo Face of being frozen in Carbonit, that is the same one on the carbonit block. So why Lego didnt go for a more approriate face of Boba Fett is just not understandable... As annoying as it is, it makes no sense at all for TLG to offer a Boba minifig that is too similar to the UCS version, I'll be honest I was expecting the face to be the same as 75060 as the lack of arm printing makes a big difference already, but hey, whattagonnado? Disagree. The UCS Hoth set then would have been delayed to give Lego time to purge current AT-AT's from their inventory. I don't expect much from the UCS Echo base. It's not like you're building a dome. And the set's purpose is defeated without a snowspeeder and AT-AT. I'm betting on a bundle. Here's hoping. Edited December 14, 2015 by Brickr Quote

Something_Awesome Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 That still does not explain early reports that the UCS Hoth set was actually a UCS AT-AT. Quote
bountybossk Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The Hoth Echo Base will have a Snowspeeder. Haha! I guessed so. The snowspeeder in the video seems to be almost identical to 75049, except for the colors. Quote

bountybossk Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 BountyBossk how did you know they will be available in the Dutch stores ? I simply have sent them an e-mail ;). Since Toys XL was the only Dutch store to actually released the TFA sets on Force Friday, I figured they would also be the first one to sell the new wave. Quote
LordLEGOtube Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 the lack of any connection points crushes the hope of their being more Cloud City expansions to combine this set with. I wouldn't think so. Just look at '79005 the wizard battle' and '10237 the tower of orthanc' which both came out in the same year from the unfortunately discontinued Lord Of The Rings theme. The wizard battle is a -quite poor- representation of a room from the famous tower to be used as a playset, it in no way connects to the UCS-style set that also contains a much more detailed version of the room. My point is that they can still make a cloud city set with a different carbon freezing chamber in it than the 'set' we've seen so far. Of course this doesn't mean that the carbon freezing chamber is a total miss, I used the chair from the wizard battle as a backboard to saruman's bed in an extension floor in orthanc!(but that's a whole other story!). I don't remember reading anything about an AT-AT So the D2Cs are... 75098 Assault on Hoth 75144 Snowspeeder 75159 The Death Star Not bad! It may have been before this year then. But people "in the know" had said originally that the set was going to be an AT-AT. This distortion of information is explainable if the Hoth includes one. At the end of the day, a Hoth UCS makes zero sense if there is no concurrently released AT-AT. Hoth is popular for two reason only people. The two reasons being: AT-AT's and Snowspeeders. Kids won't care about an echo base if they don't have an AT-AT. It's the truth. So that's why it's bundled. Quote

This distortion of information is explainable if the Hoth includes one. I believe what happened was in the 2014 Rumours and Discussion thread someone said they would like to see a UCS AT-AT, someone else came along and misread the post and thought there was an upcoming one. But anyway the best thing we can do is wait until we see more information. Quote

So that's why it's bundled. That makes no sense at all. The AT-AT is from last year and came together along with the snowspeeder. In the lego video we see exactly 3 AT-ATs that are 100% identical with the 2014 model. Why would they ever put up a new smaller AT-AT one year after the last ones Release? And they would have to make it smaller, the 2014 model has 1100 pieces, if they bundle a similar one in the hoth base there is not really a lot left for actual buildings. Maybe it was original planned as an UCS AT-AT, but then discarded because they already had one. If anything, they would bundle one of the 2014 ones in there, but I highly doubt that since the AT-AT is already a big set by itself. Edited December 14, 2015 by BigEl Quote

eric729 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 It seems that, with LEGO's transition from two battlepacks to four, they have lost quality in both the sets and the minifigs. Quote
Junior Shark Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Was Hall of Mirrors a code name for Battle on Takodana? I'm pretty sure. It seems that, with LEGO's transition from two battlepacks to four, they have lost quality in both the sets and the minifigs. How so? The quality drop in sets I can kinda see, but the BP minifigures are some of the best in forever! (In my humble opinion, of course.) Quote
darththeling Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Yeah! I was predicting an AT-AT as well in the list price reveal months ago for the USC Hoth set. There's really no other way to justify the price in my opinion... plus that makes it more of an "attack." And it is included in the video! Edited December 14, 2015 by darththeling Quote
Fuppylodders Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Disagree. You have more hope of finding unicorn poo than there being a system scale set of an AT-AT included. There will be no AT-AT in it, just many small/medium builds, a wampa, a snowspeeder. and likely, many minifigs. They can easily get £250 from all that. Just imagine how many 1x1's they'll use to justify the high part count/price Quote
Robianco Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Sorry isnt this what makes lego so special in regard of a toy to imagine things. Its not like its asked too much to give the lego head an appropiate face or at least a face of any kind, so that you can use the figure for different things and imagine a scene where Boba actually takes his helmet off? The figure has a face... it's just that some people don't like it. There's a multitude of flesh heads with various faces... just stick one of those on and imagine away... Quote

Kman860 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Bad news guys. The 75054 AT-AT has retired. You know what this means? It means that the Hoth UCS set that is supposed to come out in 2016 will come with an AT-AT included. It also looks like it will come with a Snowspeeder since the latest snowspeeder has also retired. Since we won't get a Hoth base we've been hoping for (since so many of the parts will be allocated to vehicles), the best thing that we CAN hope for now is at least a bigger AT-AT. This does explain why I had heard reports earlier this year that the UCS Hoth set was actually an AT-AT. While a UCS sized AT-AT is unlikely, I think that an AT-AT that is at least half way between the system scale set and a UCS sized one could actually salvage this Hoth UCS set. I'd pick one up if the AT-AT was made bigger. One can only hope, but at the price point of 270 when you consider everything else you're getting, it seems doubtful. You say it will include an AT-AT like you know, 100%, inside information, that will happen. Did you even have any proof when you said that? So, two D2C Snowspeeders in one year? At this point I'm expecting one in the Death Star Well, they are different scales...one will be minifig scale, one USC scale... Edited December 15, 2015 by Kman860 Quote
