KMOI Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I am by far the worst Lego builder in the world. In the eyes of adult fans of lego such as yourselves, I would be considered a small fry. When it comes to Minifig modifications though, I tend to do a bit better. You see, when I saw the Grievous, I was like, "Great upper body! Now let's see the lower body!" Nontheless, I was dissappointed. However, it also gave me hope. As you know, GG's legs are attached by a bar. This inspired me to build this. Now after countless visualizations and a couple of modifications later, I give made this set of Grievous legs! Featuring 9 moving joints, this is my vision of what GG should have looked like. With these leg modifications, this has become the most flexable Lego minifig EVER! Anyhoo, the bad part is is that this set of legs are HUGE. They are about 1.5 inches/3.7 cm tall! Hence, in the photos you're about to see, they are more squated down, such that it becomes more in scale. Besides, this was the absolute smallest I could get. Oh and on another note, my GG is arriving by mail and you should see these badboys on GG's upperbody in a few days. ;) Meanwhile, enjoy these pics! Quote
Wolf04 Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 LMAO!!! Ermmm..yeah......lol....that's just funny.... 3rd pic: "Lookie ma, I can cover greater distances with these longer, state-of-the-art legs." Quote
jonfett Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 They look a little bit overscaled to me but they look great on that droid! Can't wait to see them on Grevious. Btw, I love pic no. 3 ;) Jon. Quote
MattZitron Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I like them!! What's the connecting piece? Matt Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 15, 2005 Governor Posted April 15, 2005 What sexy legs they are! Quote
languages Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I would love if LEGO made a Grevious out of Technic Quote
The Middleman Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I would love if LEGO made a Grevious out of Technic Same here. It's the most appealing TECHNIC idea out of all the ones they've released. Quote
Cyclonis Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 They look pretty alrighty. I don't actually like the legs that much, but I like your nature for original ideas. I would have just used this peice instead, actually: But only the white version of the legs, which can be found in this set: Quote
KMOI Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 You see, I was thinking of the same thing too, but then I realized why it wouldn't work. 1) I don't own the set :P 2) It actually makes him look shorter, oddly enough. But you're right, they should have used those legs. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I have that set. I'll see what I can do. Quote
jonfett Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 What's the connecting piece? Judging from the pics I think it is a technic pin with 2 1x1 round plates attached at either ends (to attach to each leg). Then one of these clipped onto the pin, with one of these on top of that, to attach to the body. But maybe KMOI can confirm this for us? Jon. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 So it needs a modified piece to work? Quote
jonfett Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Which part of my explanation (if it is right) says it needs a modified piece? Jon. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Which part of my explanation (if it is right) says it needs a modified piece?Jon. Ah, I misread it. :$ But which TECHNIC pin are you talking about? Quote
KMOI Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 I'll confirm it! It's one of these combined with one of these and then you put two of these roung plates on either end. You need the round pegs, because without them, you can't make the legs move alot. Quote
jonfett Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Yay! I was right, but your link to the round pegs linked to the 1x1 round plate. Did you mean this technic pin? Jon. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 But how could that attach to a clip...? EDIT: Nevermind, he used one of these. Quote
languages Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 It would be very cool if at the end of the legs there were claws.... Has anyone put these onto the Grevious minifig? Quote

KMOI Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 My Grievous set is supposed to arrive by Thursday, so you'll definately see them then. I can't wait! Quote
KMOI Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 Well, here are the pics! They look great on him, though they make him look like Clone Wars Grievous. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 A bit big, but otherwise look great! And you're right, makes him look Clone Wars-y. Quote
ApophisV Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Wow! The battle droid body with legs just looked ridiculous (sorry :P), but for Grevious they are perfectly! :oo As a small idea: Maybe you could replace the two outer 1x2 plates with 1x2 tiles to give it a less "studdy" feeling! Quote

Yeah that would look better. I might have to do this, and then burn those other evil legs they gave us *twisted* Quote
