Scouty Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 This is a pure browse find. I barely know how I even found it X-D . Anyway, there are a bunch of nice ships here. And a nice brick Jolly Rogers on the table and cutlass! A nice island as well! Go left for more pirate pictures: Pictures I like the drk grn ship alot. (Sorry for lack of pictures in first post) Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2007 Governor Posted October 14, 2007 And what do you think I should say to him? "HIIIIIIIII!!! We have something in common, except I have a proper website and you don't :-P " Quote
Landlubber Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 He never said he had a website. He's an admin for a Yahoo group based on Lego Pirates. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2007 Governor Posted October 14, 2007 And that's what I mean by "proper website" I.e. Classic-Pirates.com (a proper website) versus a Yahoo Newsgroup. Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 And what do you think I should say to him?"HIIIIIIIII!!! We have something in common, except I have a proper website and you don't :-P " Exactly! Maybe plunder his yahoo group? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2007 Governor Posted October 14, 2007 Most of the MOCs in that Yahoo Group have been posted here anyway so there's not a great deal we could plunder. Quote
Scouty Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 I thought you guys would mention him X-D . It seems I know quite a couple people there 8-| Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2007 Governor Posted October 14, 2007 "Him" being the Adminitrator of Classic-Pirates? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 Does anyone know who this admin is and were you still going to contact this person Mr ImperialScouts? But why would you want to contact them anyway - they're obviously well aware of the Pirate Forum here. Quote
Scouty Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 I decided not to contact, I had absolutely no clue what to say. I think I've seen this admin username in quite a few other places on flickr. But I'm no member of flickr, so I would not know. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 That's a good idea because unless you have a reason for contacting this administrator there's not much point. I'd presume the members of that Yahoo Group are aware of this forum given Mr Oo7 is a Eurobricks member and I suspect a couple of the others are too. Quote
Scouty Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 I wouldn't be that sure they know about us. Quote
Capn Frank Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Well here's a couple of pics on flickr of Mr. Mhuffman's They're obviously used for gaming from the other pics i've seen. None of these ships seem to be in our index yet. 8-| But i could be wrong X-D It would also appear Mr. Mhuffman has created his own website; it's called brickbuildr.com this site appears to mainly be for finding lego photos more easily on flickr. tedbeard Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I did take my video camera and took some footage but I have not had a chance to edit or upload yet. The display looked pretty good but sadly we were not complete. BTW Justin Major designed a version of his micro pirate ship as the commemorative kit and the 2 different t-shirt designs featured male and female pirates. I'll try to find some pics of those tomorrow. It was very pirate-y. Quote
Michael Huffman Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 He never said he had a website. He's an admin for a Yahoo group based on Lego Pirates. Actually, I'm just an admin for a LEGO Flickr group that's a fan of classic LEGO pirates, not a Yahoo group. :-) Yes, I know of you'll. I'm a fan of LEGO pirates... I always have been since coming out of my dark ages. It was LEGO pirates that got me out of my dark ages. Anyway, I'm not trying to take the name over. I've been thinking that LEGO pirates needed just as much visibility on Flickr as the space, castle & train groups. So instead of waiting around for one of you'll to create the group, I created it. And asked a few people to add their pictures to the group, including Mister007. I'm willing to make anyone who wants to be an admin for the Flickr group to make them an admin... (Mister007 is an admin for the group), or even step aside if a group of others want to admin the group. Anyway, I've added a link to the forums here, so if anyone on Flickr is looking for LEGO pirate, they should be able to find your group. --Mike. P Edit: Sent a message to Mr. Mhuffman to inquire if he's heard of us X-D These photos were taken at Brickfest, during one of the Steve's pirate games that Frank ran. And yes, BrickBuildr was created to help the LEGO community find LEGO related pictures on Flickr, due to some of the complaints about Flickr I was hearing over on LUGNET. Please join and share your pictures, if you have a Flickr account. --Mike. Quote
oo7 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Yes, it's not a website on its own, just a page with a collection of many LEGO pirate pictures found on flickr. It makes it easier to browse. We might even be able to affiliate our little group with these grand forums with a link on the group Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2007 Governor Posted October 16, 2007 Anyway, I'm not trying to take the name over. I've been thinking that LEGO pirates needed just as much visibility on Flickr as the space, castle & train groups. So instead of waiting around for one of you'll to create the group, I created it. Excellent work! Classic Pirates needs to infiltrate as many websites as possible! *y* If you had let us know about the NWBrickCon earlier we could have featured it more in the forum and the bulletins/newsletters that get sent out. That way the awareness level of Piratical prescence at NWBrickCon could have increased. Yes, it's not a website on its own, just a page with a collection of many LEGO pirate pictures found on flickr. tedbeard Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 If you had let us know about the NWBrickCon earlier we could have featured it more in the forum and the bulletins/newsletters that get sent out. July wasn't early enough? See: North West Brick Convention - has a pirate theme! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2007 Governor Posted October 16, 2007 Admittedly I forgot about that thread - regardless neither Mister Huffman nor Mister Oo7 provided us with additional information so we couldn't have done much more than discuss it. Had we been liaison we could have explored other possibilities and made sure the whole darn world knew about the Pirate Theme at NWBrickcon! Ah well, something to bear in mind for future conventions. Quote
oo7 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I'm just as oblivious concerning any LEGO convention as you are, Mister Phes. I've never been to one as the closest major gathering is usually still about a ten hour drive from where I live..... Yes linking to this forum and/or Classic-Pirates.com would be great! When I give the Classic-Pirates.com website an overhaul (which will hopefully be in mid November) I can return the favour. I need to encoporate a "Links" section into the frontpage because linking to as many Pirate LEGO related websites is a good thing to do. Okay, all we need is the confirmation of Mr. Huffman and we wil be officially binded in a mutual corporate alliance! I'll boost the membership of the group and make the web layout so that it promotes the forums with his expressed permission. *y* Quote
Michael Huffman Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Sorry... been a little busy... Also, I created a large Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2007 Governor Posted October 18, 2007 I think there's enough interest in LEGO pirates to form it's own Flickr group, IMO. There probably is but someone has coordinate and mainstain such a venture. Unfortunately we're over stretched for peronnsel with this forum and Classic-Pirates.com. I've been to a few Brickfests & to Brickworld, but didn't go to NWBC. :( Maybe next year. In the past, Frank has organized the pirate room at Brickfest (it generally gets lumped in with the Castle room) and he runs a pirate game or two. It's all fun. I think Pirates need to increase their prescence at these conventions so this forum could be used as a gathering place to unite the Pirate fans! You have my confirmation & permission... anything we can do to help the web-site (classic-pirate.com) & these here forums out. :) Bless you lad and may you be rewarded in heaven! :-) Or at least with a return link when time permits.
