Pirates in my own back yard!

I have already signed up to bring Harbor Sentry (6245) and Forbidden Island (6270). The two sets I actually got when they were originally in stores.

The convention theme for NWBrickCon 2007 this year is . . . Pirates!

We'll be having a special emphasis on the brick's buccaneers and encourage

everone to bring Pirate-related models.

As part of this, and inspired by the Space Fly-In at BrickFest 2007,

NWBrickCon 2007 will be hosting a Pirate Sail-In. Part of our expo will

be a display of one example of every Lego Pirates set from 1989 to 2006.

Coordinator Daniel Brown is maintaining a webpage

http://www.danielbrownloans.com/Pirate_Sail_In.html

to track which attendee will bring which set. If you have one or more

official Pirates sets you would like to build and bring to the Sail-In,

contact Daniel at the link on his webpage.

Ted Beard, do you know much about those who organise the NWBrick Convention?

I attended last year and am already registered for this year. They all seem pretty open to help and cooperation. Did you have something in mind?

I thought perhaps we could offer to advertise the convention on the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage and newletter, and in return they could mention Classic-Pirates.com on their website.

Since they're having a pirate themed convention it seems logical the two websites support each other, thus endevouring to strengthen and expand the online Pirate LEGO community.

Yeah I'm sure they would be open to something. If I remember correctly from last year (and it has begun for this year already) a lot of the Castle display was organized on Classic-Castle.com and the website was mentioned in the program.

Is there an organiser or administrator I can contact? I notice they have an online mailing form on their website but if possible I'd rather address the appropriate person using my Classic-Pirates.com Email address.

You probably want to start with Dan since he seems to be coordinating the Sail-In: danielbr@northREMOVEwestSPAMhomeBLOCKmortgage.com

Thanks for that Ted Beard. Would he mind having his Email address made public in a forum? If so we better remove it ASAP.

I wondered about that but it is posted openly on the sign-up page for the Sail-In which is a publicly accessible page so I don't imagine it's a problem (I will edit for SPAM though.)

Now all I need to do is find the time to write him a nice Email... After I do a multitude of other things...

I also edited the title of this thread in the hope to attract more attention to it because it seems we're the only two posting here.

I've always wanted to see ALL of the pirate sets together...but I won't be able to come. :( So I'll have to hope for lots of pictures! ;) The family rate is pretty reasonable; that's nice to see.

Maybe we can get an exclusive photographer to take pictures for us...

I thought I might take my digital video camera and do a "tour" when its all set up. *sweet*

I'm too busy (or lazy X-D ) to look, but does anyone know where this convention is?

Seattle, Washington, USA *sweet*

Oh, and just to be complete: October 5, 6 and 7, 2007

Say you're busy Phred! Lazy is evil! We need as many Pirate MOCs at these conventions that we can get.

However, if I'm to understand correctly this convention only wants official sets, or is it MOCs too? I'll have to look at the website again.

The Pirate Sail-In is trying to display every single Pirate set ever made. There are separate display areas for MOCs with Pirates having a small table last year beside the Castle display.
