dustinbahr Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I want to build something in LDD with the most basic colors possible. Where are Green, Blue, Yellow, Red, White, etc....? How do I get to just plain old Green? Not interested in Earth Green, or Sand Green, or Dark Green, or Bright Green, or Bright Yellowish Martian Grass Green, or Spring Has Arrived Yellowishly In The Forest Green..... Quote
SylvainLS Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 White is called “White” (#1). Black is called “Black” (#26). Other “basic” colors have fancier names: red is “Bright Red” (#21), yellow is “Bright Yellow” (#24), blue is “Bright Blue” (#23), green is “Dark Green” (#28) (here was the catch), dark grey is “Dark Stone Grey” (#199), and (light) grey is “Medium Stone Grey” (#194). I think that’s all the “basic” colors (of your childhood?). Some less basic but often used/found: “Reddish Brown” (#192), “Bright Orange” (#106) and “Brick Yellow” (#5) (tan color). Oh, if you want the greys and brown from before 2003-2004, they are available in the extended mode, under legacy, as “Grey” (#2), “Dark Grey” (#27) and “Brown” (#217). Quote
Darking Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 The most used green, which is the one I assume you refer to, is actually called "Dark Green". Blue, yellow and red are the "bright" ones (Bright Blue, Bright Yellow and Bright Red). White and black are called just that. Just look at the colour chart. I think it's fairly easy to recognize the shade you're looking for. Quote
dustinbahr Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 But I'm using this to build things I want to order brick link parts for. The color codes don't match. All the basic colors on brick link have the basic names and #s less than 20... Quote
Calabar Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Bricklink uses different codes for colours and, sometimes, bricks. You need a conversione table. Take a look at the LDD Reference Topic (you can find the link in the Section Index) where you can find discussions and references to colour conversion tables. Quote
