Yes, another one.......I like hardware stores.......my favorite stores right after ones that sell Lego !

This one is a mini shop style on an old school 8 stud x 16 stud base plate and it has elements of the Home Hardware Store in it as well.

Not too shabby m8.

Is this a prototype?

Thanks for the comments 'gamejutzu', actually I've never considered it a prototype - just a simple inexpensive city set idea though I might make some either changes or additions.

Oh. Sorry, but in that case I unfortunately can not see this becoming a set.

Lego sets are, yes, simple, but not so that the build itself is lackluster. Even if the main point for it is to be inexpensive, that does not mean that it has to look a bit shabby.

There's a reason Lego sets nowerdays are smaller than before, because they want detail rather than height or scale. It is too skippy, lackluster for their tastes, and everyone else's.

I'm sorry for saying that, but this actually does need some more work. In this time and age, stuff similar to this is not professional enough to validate as a set.

Oh, that's okay......funny I hear differently on Ideas.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, did you see my other hardware store I have posted plus all my other hardware stores over the years.

This particular design is totally an old school inspired set design, I started with Lego when the first minifig scale sets came to Australia back in the late 1970's.

Actually I highly doubt that this would become a set, even branding only helps a little.

Like the additions, but honestly, LEGO will never reduce the quality of their sets.

It will really not hurt anyone if some edits (with the look of the overall building, looks a tad unrealistic right now) are made here and there, as to make it look like something LEGO themselves would release.

I don't mind people being picky, now please take a look back at 2009 city corner set - this design of mine has more detail in it. I designed this one to have a low part count but still gives the impression of a hardware store with a twist of old school classic town.

If you like please look back over my other store designs over the years to see I try all variations of structure and detail.

I have seen your MOCs and you are indeed a talented builder. That's not what I meant.

That was 2009. LEGO's quality has increased since then, and they will never go back, only forward. I remember the old Belville buildings. Only pillars and platforms, with chairs on the floor and such. LEGO would never make sets similar to those again. The low quality of the builds compared to the current ones would severely reduce buyability in that category.

Look at Lego Juniors. Those sets are quite small, and designed to be accessible. They have low piece counts and are cheap and easy to build. Yet they all have very good quality. And features and functions that work in favor of the set. the builds are still great as well, and probably have an even smaller piece count than you creation.

You don't need to sacrifice quality to have accessibility. Such implies that one would be underestimating Lego. It is possible to have both worlds you know.
