Amazing Bricks Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Who is your favorite collectable minifigure of all the series? If you could only choose one, what would it be? Eventually, we will figure out who is the best collectable minifigure of all time. Discuss Quote
Eggyslav Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) From my humble collection, I'd say Space Villain and Evil Knight, I was lucky enough to get two of both of them, Evil knight has that great "spiky spikes of doom" armor and leg printing, and the shield is a great nod to Monty Python's own Black Knight, and the furious face with those red eyes is so badass (although I like Evil wizard's kickass beard and battlescars better, sadly I don't have one, anyone wants to trade? I got an excess of F1 Racers, plus I can add a Shell/Ferrari mint condition promo polybag ), and as for the Space Villain, I just love his design, those cybernetics, the Blacktron II logo, the helmet, everything about this fig is awesome, although I wish he also wore the "space marine armor", in dark pearl silver or black... I also have the Elf, and he's great too (Dat Green Cape and recurve bow), and I really hope, that we'll get more non-licenced, non-minidoll elves with classic yellow carnation, that would utilize LoTR Elves long braided hair (I just want Legolas' hair with yellow ears, duh...) Hobbythom Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I love the King minifigure. Great printing, wonderfull cape and very nice crown with hair. One of the best in my regard. Another favorite is the butcher. It's such a recognizable design Quote
MAB Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Too many to chose from for me; the elf, the Roman soldier, the Spartan, hazmat guy, conquistador, Musketeer, actor, ... Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 This guy for introducing that armor, Or this Alien. Quote
x105Black Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 As of right now, I'm going to say the Elf. I'm also a huge fan of the new Gargoyle. Quote
telaruhn Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 My favorite is probably the Series 11 Yeti. But I have also grown fond of the Series 13 Galaxy Trooper. Quote
BrickOn Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Too hard to choose... if I had her I think it would be statue of liberty... Quote
dr_spock Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It would be lizard man. That could change with future releases of CMFs. lizard man habitat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Quote

Eggyslav Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 oh yea I forgot about him! :-) That's quite an irony, considering you have the guy in your avatar... Quote
Actor Builder Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Oooh tough decision... I really love the Hazmat Suit Guy. He's great ... My two favorites are probably the Demolition Dummy and the Magician. But to choose just one, I'll say the Magician. His shark fighting cameo in The LEGO Movie was just hilarious. peedeejay Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Pizza Delivery Guy. It's so awesome a build a whole modular for them. :) Quote
sunhuntin Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 unicorn girl i think, followed closely by the king and hotdog guy. honorable mention to the toy solider, given hes not part of the blind bags. Quote
AmperZand Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 It would have to be the elf. I waited for years for TLG to produce an elf and when they did, they didn't disappoint. My second favourite is the medusa and third probably the musketeer. Quote

Pate-keetongu Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 It's got to be the diver, series 8: The helmet mold is beautiful. Quote
Exetrius Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 One choice? No doubt, for me it's the Elf! The Space Marine comes really close, though. Series 7 was just amazing... Apart from him, the Aztec Warrior, Evil Knight, Ocean King, ... well almost every fig in that series was great! Quote
fred67 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 It's got to be the diver, series 8: ... The helmet mold is beautiful. I've been hesitant to reply in this thread because I like so many of them, would rate a good number of them as a "10," but for so many different reasons. One of the things I tried to do at first is build vignettes for the figures... but there's just too many. Without going into a long, detailed story, I did make this: When the S8 diver came out, my jaw dropped - I regret that I still haven't made a proper vignette for it, it really deserves one - I just can't think of one that doesn't include a boat with a pump, and I can't think of how to do that in 8x8 vignette, especially given that I have a divided shadow box with 12 sections designed to hold baseballs; I could do 10x10, but can't get the height I'd need. Still, it's one of the ones I really want to do. The other reason it's too hard to choose is because some of the older ones that were cool to begin with, become even better - the Pharaoh was great, but it was just a Pharaoh - what do you do with it? But then there's the mummy they added.... suddenly you can make a pretty neat vignette with it. But it didn't end there - they followed up with Cleopatra, and more recently the Egyptian warrior... the value of the sum of these figures together is much greater, IMO, than the figures separately. The elves - I loved the elves, one of the few "army builder" series for me; I think I have around 15 of them. But I loved them not just because hey, elves, but because I was a fan of Fantasy Era, and they made a mistake, IMO, by skipping elves. But even the elves became better, IMO, when they released the evil dwarfs.... which I also army built. The musketeer is OK - but three of them together are awesome! The witches, too (same deal... one is OK, three is great). Army building Egyptian Warriors, too... but don't need quite as many, just enough to make a proper guard for Pharaoh. Then, of course, are zombies. My favorite horror/sci-fi genre, I can't get enough of them. Quote
egg roller Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Series one zombie. I love the face print on it and the gray tattered clothes are perfect. Its a real shame that they are prohibitively expensive Quote

This is my favourite part about the Minifigures is seeing different groups of them emerge that are outside of the everyday lego themes... I like the Egyptian and wild west themes... sometimes I feel like the Minifigures are just there as bait for when lego decides to release full blown sets to go with... but as it stands at the moment I fully intend to build them into MOCs when I get the time :-) Although Cleo goes better with Caesar than the Pharaohs :-) Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) This is impossible to answer. But some of my all-time favorites are Medusa, the Clockwork Robot, Mr. Good and Evil, the Spooky Girl, the Goblin, and the Banshee and Spider Lady. Of course, I love almost all of the CMFs, but the ones I listed were some of the ones that instantly attracted me and made me very happy. As for why I like them? Simply put, I think their designs are perfect. I don't throw that word around lightly, but these guys just did everything right. Instantly recognizable and very unique. Spooky's one of my favorites due to her subtlety and restraint. You know she's creepy due to her colors (or lack thereof) but the rest of her design also contributes to that vibe without making it over-the-top. On the reverse, I like the Spider Lady and Evil Wizard because they're over-the-top. It's variable, but this theme has contributed some truly spectacular designs.
