Tried to run the program and I got a problem with it. After clicking the "Render" button the window of a rendered picture remains clear and no process has been running after that so far after multiple tries.

In the readme, msx80 provides

But the important license is for Sunflow, which is open-source:

Sunflow is open source but it’s only a library for Bluerender.

Bluerender itself has no explicit licence, therefore it’s proprietary, a freeware, a donationware (pick the one you understand the best).

Anything that is not granted is forbidden.  (Even the right to use the program is only implied, by its availability, but not stated.)

Hi, I've got a couple of questions. Why won't Bluerender render the top 1/3rd of a minifigure head print?

Problems

Like only this much of the face will load which is pretty frustrating.

Problems

Also, top hats also don't render those prints and the color Aqua. Can someone please help?

Hi!

I'm new to this forum, and I wanted to try out BlueRender. I downloaded the latest version (0005) but I can't get it to run. I get an error:

Error: Could not find or load main class bluerender.BlueRender

I'm using Linux, my Java version is "1.8.0_171". This is the full java --version output:

java version "1.8.0_171"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 8.0.5.16 - pxa6480sr5fp16-20180524_01(SR5 FP16))
IBM J9 VM (build 2.9, JRE 1.8.0 Linux amd64-64-Bit Compressed References 20180523_387150 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
OpenJ9 - c81abfb
OMR - f3f8112
IBM - 4f87eeb)
JCL - 20180515_01 based on Oracle jdk8u171-b11

I tried running the same command as in the bluerender.bat file in terminal from the same directory, I tried entering the bin directory and running the following command:

java -jar bluerender.jar

but it always gives me the same error.

I'm familiar with java programming from work, but I don't have the source code (I can easily decompile it as I have IntelliJ installed, but I don't want to unless I'm told to do so).

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks!

I’ve had the same not really helpful “could not find or load the class” message with the OpenJRE’s VM.  Using Oracle’s version solved it.  I think it was the signature that couldn’t be checked.

Anyway, trying another environment (user, JVM, LD_LIBRARY_PATH…) might help.

There are two things I wish Bluerender would allow me to do:

  1. Transparent backgrounds. Although, this admittedly may be the limit of the rendering engine in on itself, compared to POV-Ray.
  2. I could tell Bluerender if I want a clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation animation.

Bluerender doesn’t really render metallics well for me, anybody else with this problem?

Yes!  Titanium color in particular is coming out as a very smooth, almost glossy plastic look - nowhere near metallic.   That said, I managed to alter settings for some of the other colors with some success (turned the "glass" material into a decent dark-grey tinted transparent material for example, so that I can finally render vehicles/spaceships etc with a better looking glass than that putrid brown hahahaha) so maybe I should have a fiddle with that one to bring it in line with the metallics that do work...

The "changedecor" line isn't working for me. Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong?

I don't know if it's different for PC or Mac (I use Mac) but I have the address formatted differently, such as

##CHANGEDECOR 603159 /Users/Myname/Desktop/MOCs/filename.png

Substitute path as applicable to you, but as you see, there is no C:\ and the slashes are like this "/" and not like this "\"

That is what works for me on my Mac. Hope this helps.

I love Bluerender, but every time I render something the process stalls exactly midway through. Once the left half of the image has rendered, everything seems to pause for a good 20-30 minutes before continuing onward. Then it's another steady clip to the finish.

It's not unworkable, but the hang midway through is just making the render process that much longer.

What's weird is that if I hibernate the computer (Windows 10), then the process starts right up when the system resumes.

Anyone have a problem with the background not matching when it's not white? The horizon line shows a straight difference of color, even if I've selected the same color for background and base.

You will have to edit the blueprint config file and you will want to comment out the section that starts with "this is the ground plane"

Remove the ground.

Even with both ground and sky (“background”) of the same colour, they are still ground and sky.

Ok, just found out about bluerender for LDD, downloaded the latest bluerender, extracted the zip file, clicked on the bluerender.bat, and nothing happens. Well, I get a command window that says :'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. So what am I doing wrong?
