I have a question to those that have purchased the Rebel Pilot or Imperial Worker arms from FireStarToys. They look absolutely stunning but how is the actual printing compared to LEGO?

Judging by the pictures on their site the printing looks almost jagged or maybe even grainy (I don't really know how to describe it). The texture also looks like you could probably actually feel the print. Not gonna lie, I would gladly pay £1.95 for a pair, but so far the images are kind of putting me off.

The arms are absolutely flawless, as good as Lego in my opinion.

As I've stated before, the facial prints aren't as seamless as Lego, but the prints themselves are lovely and *look* like Lego faces (as in the art style), they just have a slightly raised finish which you can notice up close when the light hits them. However to have 8 more unique faces in our array of Rebel pilots, I really don't mind at all that the light hits their faces slightly differently.

Here's some close-ups (well, as up-close as my iPhone camera will take):

A gathering of Alliance pilots (wish I could justify the cost of getting the helmets from the UCS Assault on Hoth and UCS Snowspeeder, but not spending £15 on a mini figure just for a helmet)... and annoyed because I just realised I didn't include the T-16 pilot helmet here, but can't be bothered taking a new photo haha:

Waste not want not; our array of flight-suit bodies - updated as best as possible to all co-exist with one another, plus I actually like the variety of them all being a bit more individual, they're scrappy rebels, not conveyor-belt stormtroopers:

Firestar Toys Rebel Pilot arms (used them only for our very vintage torsos, because I don't like wasting them, wanted to update them instead - plus just can't justify buying 20 packs of tiny arms at £2.00 a pair!):

Lego John D meets Firestar Biggs for comparison of quality:

Firestar female pilot meets Lego female pilot for comparison of quality:

Firestar Toys Imperial crewman arms:

Needless to say I think Firestar Toys did an amazing job with the arms and I think the faces are equally an excellent addition your squadron if you're sick of 90% being the smiley pilot or the frowning pilot. I just wish they'd produce their own array of rebel pilot helmets too, sick of Lego only including new ones with UCS sets.

Really like that gold helmet. Did you make it yourself? And which pilot is that?

Yeah as said above, it's from the Resistance Bomber set. And aside from a few like Biggs and Porkins where they have special faces, I don't make them with any intention to be specific pilots, they're just our 'rebels' like the ground troopers :)

The arm printing on the black arms really works for those figures. I've recently expanded and rounded off my Imperial army so I'm looking at a LOT of arms for those (12 DS Troopers, 6 technicians, 4 Ground Crew, 8 Gunners etc) as well as the X-Wing pilot arm sets. I'm putting in a special request to have black emblems printed on grey arms too.

Firestar have got a really good digital printer so the amount the ink is raised isn't nearly as much as it is from customisers such as PPM.

Yeah I see it now when you mentioned it. Well it can work as a helmet to represent Garvin Dreis until something better comes up.

Grey arms for these guys? Do they do special requests? If so, that would be absolutely fantastic!

EDIT: Fixed the link.

Dark-bluish grey for Bodhi Rook would be wonderful too... I'd finally buy him for use just as an Imperial cargo pilot.

Firstly, those firestar imperial arms look amazing and are going to cost me a fortune - especially if they also bring out grey ones!

Secondly, can anyone suggest a source for dual molded black (top half) and red (bottom half) legs? The best I can find is the TMNT foot soldier ones, but they’re far from ideal. The new Incredibles ones would be perfect if they were the other way up!

Maybe a black Kama skirt or this technique?

Yeah they're done very well, same as the rebel pilot. My only issue with the imperials is that most lego minifigs use silver for the crest (eg tie pilots) and the white on the firestar arms doesn't sit as well as it could.

They do if you know the person who designs the figures and prints them ;)

https://brickset.com/parts/design-21019 -there's no official unprinted version, closest would be dark grey and red but , I'm guessing that that won't cut it.

I don't get part II and III to be honest. What are they trying to show there?

It's the minifigure hand holding the 'T' pin in place so the 1x1 clip can attach to it. The images shows the torso from the side.
