What's wrong with turrets? There are plenty in the Castle Theme?

Like the gun kind of turrets. I was just thinking about D-Day, with the Nazis and the turrets they used to sweep the beach from the cliffs.

I liked these sets. I only have the re-release of the Armada Flagship (6291), but I'd love to see the Imperial Trading Post and some of these classic pirate sets re-released. This was a great theme that I always regreted not collecting.

Yes, you tell a tale of such tragedy and woe... I agre whole heartedly that more Pirate sets should be re-released inlcuding the Imperial Trading Post - even though I have one its not 100% complete and the sails on the Cutter (the only merchant ship in the whole line) are rather tattered. Then the one I currently have could be built into something else.

I'd get one ridiculously cheap over eBay and it would be marvellous. But we haven't seen a re-released Pirate set since The Black Seas Barracuda was re-relreased in 2002...

Well, Legends use old colors, and I personally prefer the new colors (repair the damage quickly, eh?).

I had no issue with the original colors, and didn't mind the change except for train track which was Lego's WORST decision. They had to know that us train collectors have a lot of track in the old color. BAD! In fact, I need some more track and I haven't bought because I don't want anymore BLAY. It's like starting over.

Does LEGO even stop to consider what people might already have? Or do they just think YAAAAAAAY we have a new colour, lets make pieces out of this colour and not worry about what colours people might already have.

This topic has been thoroughly canvassed in many other places. We've already established that they're ****tards for doing that. Still, no going back, better get used to it.

Is there any particular reason LEGO feels the need to push new colours and abandon the old ones?

I remember back in the good old days they only had the basic colours (black, white, dark grey, light grey, red, yellow, blue) wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper to have just stuck with those the whole time?

It would of been cheaper but lego wanted to branch out and make new things therefore new colours were needed, i understand why lego wanted to brighten there colours up but i just wish they would of changed them over time and not all at once.

I can understand them wanting to branch out, but why couldn't they have kept the basic colours, afterall they have half a dosen different shades of just about everything now... Was that really pushing their limits too far?

I think the way they did it was the best way to DO IT - not that it should have been done, but all at once was the way to go. So we can collect the new colors all at once and repair the damage as quickly as we can.

I don't collect colours though. Its just irritating to know that the colours that have been round for the past 40 years are going to be harder to come by brand new. Not that it matters too much as there's no shortage of them second hand in good condition... For now...

I don't mind the new colors replacing the old ones, I just want them to give us a crapload of sets with huge amounts of said colors. Especially regular bricks - I'm waiting with bated breath for the bulk bricks in blay.

EDIT: wow. Check that hot alliteration.

I was just looking at my new Falcon. It's blay, and I didn't even realize it. The light grays are close.

For the dark greys you immediatelly can see the differences (red'ish grey vs. blu'ish grey!)

To see the difference between the light greys is a bit more difficult since they are almost the same. But if you build with new light greys and there is a single old light grey part used this old part will somehow look old and dirty (even if its new!)

How many shades of "off white"are there? I got a brick once in a lot of white brick which was off colour, I couldn't tell if it was because the brick was dirty or had been exposed to the sun, or because it was suppose to be that colour.

what's the story of this dark gray and bluish dark gray... they both seem to be in production and i don't understand why they're not shutting down either one of them...

It's already out of production, as are, to my knowledge, all the sets that use it (except the ones they're ABOUT to make that will use it sparingly to clear out stock). Any sets you find with old gray are out of production, at the moment. They're just working off stock.

But why does LEGO feel the need to get to rid of its basic colours like dark grey? There's only 7 basic colours! That's not many to keep for the sake of people who don't want all these different shades.

LEGO needs to get back to basics... no more skimping on sets with large, lame pieces to keep the piece count low... stupid, useless, lage pieces...

Hear, hear!

They need to add more minifigs also. At least 1 per every 7 dollars. $20 = 100-300 parts and 3 minifigs. $100 = 500-800 parts and 14 minifigs :oD :oD :oD . I really don't care if the parts are basic bricks and plates. I would actually prefer it. Skip the bulk tubs use the pieces in the sets. Minifigs can be generic (I don't need 10+ kings or knights) like peasants, bandits, military grunts, storm troopers, swabbies, natives, explorers, workers, sellers, children, or women (a definite minority). Back to the basics. Simpler sets with more parts and figs are hands down the best to have!

Why do I want a big fall apart set that only comes with 12 pieces a minifigure and weapon for $15? *wacko* *devil* *wacko* I don't!
