Bricksonwheels Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I have a big passion for customized cars and bikes. I especially love the Cali style lowriders, as featured by this model because of the awesome colors and extreme customation. This Harley Davidson Road King, scaled 1:10 is built out of genuine LEGO bricks, in sand and dark green color, completed with many chromed and gold plated bricks. Models like this and many others like cars, planes and trains will be featured in the forthcoming Nostarch book: The Art of Lego Scale Modeling, to be released this summer, written by myself and Dennis Bosman (Legotrucks). You can see a preview here: www.nostarch.com/legoscalemodeling For this Harley Davidson I teamed up with Auri from Bricklinks Chrome Block City (www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Aurimax) to combine gold and chromed plated parts into something really customized. LeocornoProductions Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 That is the best looking lego bike, my eyes have ever had the pleasure of viewing. I'm not a big fan of bikes, but this one has won my heart. Quote
Infraredbrick Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Oh, that's just beautiful! I'm thinking the most challenging part of this build was getting rid of all the fingerprint smudges. Haha! Quote
BusterHaus Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Splendid job. For some reason, common bricks that are plated look like completely different parts to me. I spent a few minutes identifying the shapes. Beautiful. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Stunning work! I love all the shiny pieces. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 You did it again mate(WOW) . Your chrome, gold and copper plated bricks are the best in the world, and juse for mine last 2 designed sets your chromed bricks and mine customers loved it  . Quote
Askan Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I truly didn't know this was possible! Amazing! Quote
darsedz Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Amazing, in your "recognizable" Harley style ... those colours - green/chrome/gold makes from a set of bricks a masterpiece. A saw another WIP photo with engine (flicker) - is this frame stiff enough based on only one 32291 (cross block)? Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Thnx all! About the frame, yes it is. This frame has one advantage: it is chromeplated which tightens tolerances and makes it a bit stiffer. Quote
Milan Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Just when you think that you cant put more chrome on the bike...you prove you can. Great build! Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 The amount of chrome....Amazing model, i'm lost for words. Quote
weavil Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 HOLY SHINY AWSOMENESS BATMAN! Showpiece work of wonder! Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Thnx all! Glad you like it Quote
Freekysch Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Just wow, what a beautiful model, the chrome parts are eye catching and make the whole motorbike ! Quote
Graydingo Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Wow! The details and chrome are amazing. Quote
Rotmistrz Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The model is impressive, the color sand green looks great. Quote
Geekphysique Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) This is one of the coolest models I have seen. I'm not normally a motorcycle fan but the perfect blend of chrome colours make this model really stand out. It only adds to the really nice details you added in making a realistic engine too. Incredible job. Edited February 17, 2015 by Geekphysique Quote
Doc_Brown Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Bling bling makes my heart sing! Stunning model. Quote
