AdrianB2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Hello all, I wanted to share with you my work in progress. I want to build a minifig scale Caserta Palace from Caserta, Italy. The palace looks like this: http://www.visitnapl...rta-990x300.jpg And this is what i've come up with until now (about 15 hours of work). https://www.flickr.c...08/15518544693/ https://www.flickr.c...08/15950826528/ Thanks! Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Hello AdrianB2014 this is an ambitious project you are undertaking. Best of luck! To present pictures in this forum, I recommend to refer to: Tutorial - Posting pictures from Flickr on Eurobricks Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Okay, great work designing so far but are you going to brick build it as well in the end ? Brick On LDD On 'AdrianB2014' ! Quote
AdrianB2014 Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 @lightningtiger i don't think i will build it for real because it will have about 100.000-200.000 pieces and i don't have that kind of money. However, it's good practice Ok so right now i have finished 3 exterior walls and part of the roof assembling apx. 43000 pieces. Because of the slope of the roof tiles i think it will be a bit narrower than the real thing but, unfortunately, i don't have a solution with existing pieces that will preserve the symmetry of the build. And now, the photos of the build as it is today: Front view: caserta-3 by adrian.baias, on Flickr Aerial view: caserta-4 by adrian.baias, on Flickr Facade detail: caserta-5 by adrian.baias, on Flickr Roof detail: caserta-6 by adrian.baias, on Flickr Thanks for the feedback! AdrianB2014 Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Unfortunately, i think because of the large number of pieces my LDD keeps crashing. Do you know any solution to this? Quote
RoxYourBlox Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Unfortunately, i think because of the large number of pieces my LDD keeps crashing. Do you know any solution to this? I think what you are experiencing is normal for LDD. Rarely can I open a model with pieces over 40k, and models over 10k require that I turn off the outlines on bricks. Quote
