pcfw Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Sigh, Rebrick.LEGO.com has Mindstorms, Technic and even DUPLO!!!! but Wedo is nowhere to be found. Wedo feels like a neglected poor cousin Anyone knows where there is a home for Wedo? Regarding tags, my son taught me #Mindstorms and #Technic Is that the way to add Topics Tags here? Quote
Jim Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Wedo is not for a broad audience. It's a dedicated product for education purposes. That's probably why you don't find much resources online. At least not as much as Mindstorms etc. Regarding tags, my son taught me #Mindstorms and #Technic Is that the way to add Topics Tags here? When you create a topic, you can add tags simply by typing the tag name followed by enter (and repeat that step). There's no need to use the hashtag. The hashtag is commonly used on Twitter (and on Facebook by people who think it's cool to add billions of them to a post). Quote
pcfw Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 So far the only one I found specifically for Wedo is in the Lego Education Community, specifically the Wedo section BTW any abbreviation/acronym for Lego Parents? Quote
Milan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) BTW any abbreviation/acronym for Lego Parents? Why are abbreviations for important? You seem to want to invent new abbreviations for everything. Edited December 28, 2014 by Milan Quote
pcfw Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 My blog Robotics for Children meant for young children but there will also be posts that may suit for older kids, then parents? (one parent says she was so glad she found my blog cause her girl lost among more advanced kids). I want to put labels/categories in sidebar so visitors looking for basic stuff (kids or parents visiting blog because of kids) can click on a suitable label and be presented with the relevant posts etc. For easy navigation. I assume using widely recognizable acronyms may help??? In fact I was planning to ask for help/suggestions/opinions on how to best label/categorize at the Lego Education Community but there less active than this forum so toying with the idea of asking here. And when I started the thread about acronym for MOD was because I have a post of this nature and expecting more in future and these kind of posts are sort of neither here nor there. Quote
750ACE Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) Abbreviations and acronyms shouldn't be used as labels/categories. I can't see how they would be easier than clicking on an actual descriptive word. Are the icons on your desktop abbreviated? I have never come across a website or blog with all sorts of acronyms. Just the occasional MOD, MOC and all of Jim's contest abbreviations :) Edited December 28, 2014 by 750ACE Quote
