grum64 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) After a weekend spent tinkering about with LDD I ended up with this 'Cosy Winter Escape' (for want of a better description). I didn't start with anything particular in mind, I just started placing bricks and this is the result. It's my first attempt at a building of any description. The nearest I've gotten is 'building' interiors for my Wifes Cafe Corner modular. My main interest is Technic. It's nothing special & as you can see, it's still very much a work in progress but I thought I'd upload it anyway for your comments & constructive critism. Edited December 22, 2014 by grum64 Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 That really looks cosy. I like the way you rounded the bottom of the roof and the firewoods. Quote

Hi Zblj I'm grateful to you for taking the time to comment on my little build. I'm not sure what it'll evolve into but it's a surprisingly enjoyable way to while away an evening or two while I take a break from the Cobra. Have a great Christmas. Quote
eurotrash Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Be careful grum64! Creating Lego buildings can be a slippery slope to madness.... I like the textures you've got on the Chimney. You could also use a couple of 98283's and 2877's in the appropriate colors to add a bit more variety. The log rack out the back is a nice touch and the interior looks good. You might consider showing some of the brown roof through the white snow so that it's not one mass of color. Merry Christmas to you and yours... Quote

Merry Christmas to you and yours... Thank you for taking the time to comment. As for creating LEGO buildings being a slippery slope to madness. I find it enjoyable but as for the madness, I decended that greasy gradient long, long before I started this! I'll certainly heed your advice. I've been tinkering with it today, just making a few changes to the roof at the back. It's now level with the chimney. I'm not really sure why, I think I wanted it to cover the log store more. Like I said, I build Technic not houses, this is my first so it's very much a work in progress. I'm interested to see what it evolves into. Hope you too have a very happy Christmas.
