Lego should bring back the Futuristic wheels for flagship cars.

IMO the current technic 56mm D.* 34mm wheels are ugly and boring. The 70mm.*28mm futuristic wheels ( with fatter tires) would look much better on flagship supercars.

Not my MOC ( it's from brickshelf user Njarzzz) but I think it looks much better than the TLC Enzo. Although ideally he should've used axle-3 with stud instead of the axle-6 with stop to connect the wheels.

I agree, or at least use wheel covers, either new molds or brick built. But yeah, new wheels would be great. Especially if they had good offset. I'd also like to see some better truck wheels, and maybe some realistic truck tires as well.

Up until few years ago, the only choice was balloon tires in all sort of sizes. While those use less rubber (seem cheaper), they are not the prettiest. I prefer the new style (unimog/42009) as they have a more modern 'look' to them.

I think the current wheels are not too bad. Granted, they are not very exciting, rather aimed towards a very broad range of use.

But I see the futuristic wheels with a very limited use. Only for futuristic vehicles, that is. I'd rather have a broader range of wheel covers, not only for Ferrari type cars.

I agree with Saberwing40k about the offset. I'd love to see wheels where the steering components can be closer to the centre of the wheel (oh, and steering components with lower kingpin offset as well...).

What I really miss are narrower Technic wheels that do not look like motorcyle wheels but are more suited for older style vehicles. I always end up with the truck wheels (the ones from e.g. 8258) which are still too wide for non-sporty cars from (roughly) 1920–1980.

Regarding aestethics, I think a selection of different rim covers will get us a long way! Prime examples are Efferman's wheel loader- and Lamborghini Countach custom printed covers.

I love the wheels in that Enzo. Not necessarily for their design, but because they allow the steering joint to be inside the wheel, so the wheel arch can be smaller even for steered wheels. This is more realistic, and will give a bit better steering.

(By the way, another advantage of those tyres is that they are quite hard and curved, which mean the contact surface is very small, which makes steering a lot smoother).

By the way, it's a cheat but you can fit the current supercar tyres (I mean those used in e.g. 42039) on these wheels. It doesn't fit very well, but it works, and I use it sometimes.

I used those wheels on my junebug, but i used modern tyres. The wheels are really awesoem and they have lots of room for various hubs etc... They can also be used for offroaders, but that axlehole does look a bit weak.
