Thanks 'FishHead' for your kind words.......I love working in the Art Deco world, but sadly I have to wait to power the sign.....it's going to cost me up to 60 bucks for one sign to rotate ? Keep watching anyway.... Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 I've fixed up the roof section so I hope once I get my motor set it can be hidden. Keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Due to cash flow my garage or lubritorim might not be as big as planned.....though it might be a matching pair for the gas station ? Plus I need money to motorise the roof top sign.......keep watching anyway. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Hope never dies! ;-) Thanks 'LT12V'......keeping watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 I got a start on the lubritorim hoist today plus some special tools.......I'll update a.s.a.p......keep watching ! Quote
Steckley Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks 'Iaka' and 'SalvoBrick' for your kind words, now interior is a little on the bare side on the inside......I need to find out what was sold in these 80+ years ago. Keep watching ! I love your project! It really captures the feel of a vintage gas station. One of the most common items they sold (and many still do) were travel maps. A couple printed map tiles on a display stand would go well in the interior I think. A few oil cans on a shelf on a wall is another suggestion. Lastly, an air pump for tires, perhaps with a child and their bike next to it, would augment the authentic feel. Quote

Thanks, now I was thinking of cans on a shelf, now a stand with maps.....hmm, never thought of that I'll look in to it. Now I have been designing on LDD the lubritorim and I'll try in the next day or so to start on it's walls......keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 Just a quick update......the walls should be up on the lubritorim tomorrow for sure. Keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I've done more work on this today, but I need to start the huge dig for parts......keep watching ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Well, only a written update now as my wife has hidden the camera ......anyway, the lubritorim is done except for pavement and a car to sit on the hoist.....I best not forget a car right ? Plus once I have a car built I really hope that I have given the roof enough height for a car on the hoist.......keep watching......I hope to scored the camera back tomorrow. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Nice, can't wait to see the next update! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I like the lift bridge for cars and I love the architectural style of this old garage with round corners! The detail of the mufflers is adorable! Keep on Tiger! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Ah, got you there 'LT12V'......they are grease tools......back in the day a mechanic could use up to six different grease guns depending on the part of the car he (or she) was working on. I hope to update with fresh photos soon, I should add that time has been an issue as my mum-in-law passed away Wednesday night and my own mum has start cancer treatment....so yeah, Christmas, etc., for little old me is not a happy one this year. But please do keep watching...... Quote
TMJ28 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Thanks 'TMJ28', I based it in part on early Texaco gas stations.....a lot of time spent researching into it in the last two days. I only have some interior and pavement work plus a minifig to go inside......so keep watching ! Welly our hard work shows off, especially with all of these updates I just saw! Quote
