Heksu Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Hello! I am new in the forum, but I have started building again with LEGO two years ago after my Dark Ages. I would like to introduce one of my latest MOCs, the Puijo Tower. The original Puijo Tower (at 75 meters high) is located in the city of Kuopio, Eastern Finland. Legoman11 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 It looks like the real one. The cone looks fantastic as does all the little details. Quote
Steph 104th Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Fantastic build! Very true to the actual one. How tall is it? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 AWESOME work there 'Heksu' and thanks for the idea......but it will take a lot of tiles for me to build a silo in a similar way to your fantastic tower design. Brick On 'Heksu' ! Quote
eurotrash Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 It looks great and I really like the shapes you've managed to get in the cone - very effective. Thanks for sharing it with us and welcome to the forums! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Tervetuloa and welcome to Eurobricks, Heksu. This summer, I went to Karelia in Finland with my family, and we even flew in and out of the airport in Kuopio, but unfortunately we never made it to the city, and hence I haven't seen the tower. But I definately will try to visit Kuopio and the Puijo Tower next time, I get the possibility. You have made it very well and detailed. Really impressive, how you made the cone. You have really used quite an amount of rocker bricks. How many bricks do you estimate are included in the project? And how long did it take to make the tower? And finally - does the kahvila (café) sell karjalanpiirakat (Karelian pastries)? I really have a wish to eat that now... Quote
Heksu Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 Thank you very much for your comments and a warm welcome! The tower is 1.5 meters high and I used about 7000-8000 bricks making it. It took about six or seven weeks to design and build the tower. I´m not sure how many hours I spend, but my evenings were quite scheduled! :D laka: Very nice to hear that you have been here in Eastern Finland! :) And you seem to be familiar with our food culture too! I´m not sure if the Puijo tower cafe sells Karelian pastries, but in the centre of the Kuopio city we have excellent bakery called Hanna Partanen. Maybe our paths cross each other some day here in Kuopio city! :) Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 1,5 meters!? Seiously it doesnt not look that big in the photo. You should take a photo with you standing next to it for reference Massively good work man! RESPECT Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 What a cool tower - and what a challenge to do the top. Very well done! Quote
