Dafgek81 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Hello guys, I a curently saving for parts to built the old skool model from brickforge.de, the MB Acro 4150K side tippertruck with crane. There are two parts used in the air-intake behind the cabin, but I don't realy like them. The number of these parts is #32310, does anyone have an alternative for them? Quote
D3K Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) You don't like the parts, just leave them out! No offence, but this is a downright stupid question. If you don't like the parts in question, how are we to know what alternative you might actually do like? In this case, you will be way better off trying different solutions for yourself to find something you like, or as I said, leave them out EDIT: Also; try to make an effort to at least link to the model and part in question! EDIT 2: Sorry if this is coming off as harsh, but lately this forum has been filling up with so many useless and unnecessary topics, and it's rather annoying! Edited November 30, 2014 by D3K Quote
Dafgek81 Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 I tried before, but I don't know how to get a LDraw file uploaded. Sorry if I ain't an expert builder like you. And I am not a computer wizzkid, I am just a truckdriver that wants to collect Lego and likes to build MOC's that you guys post and make instructions for. A lot of others have posted questions about parts by only posting a number off it and the partsdocters on this forum can give options by only knowing the number of the part to replace. But sorry for the inteription of your forum. I'll leave it be. Quote

But sorry for the inteription of your forum. I'll leave it be. The easiest way to get a picture embedded in your post is to go to bricklink. Search for the part you want to show and then right-click that picture. There should be a menu entry called 'copy image location' or 'Kopieer lokatie' if you have a Dutch version of windows. When making your post you can click on the little image (it's the 11th icon in the second row). this will open a popup window (called image properties) with an empty field in which you can past the image location (press ctrl-V). This is also works for other pictures from the internet, as long as you can find the 'copy image location' menu entry. Don't be offended by D3K, there have been some annoying threads lately, I suspect you were just the proverbial last droplet in the bucket. Anyways here is the picture of the part: Quote
Dafgek81 Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Thank you Jeroen, that was very helpfull, will try and use it next time. Hope someone has an alternative part in mind, one that has not got that weird bump sticking out. Real inlets are flat. Quote
D3K Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I know others do it, which is why I'm starting to get annoyed. We have "Technic and model team index topic" pinned on the very top of this forum. In this you will find links to other topics, such as "General parts discussion", "Technic General Discussion" (which' description reads ". Here you can post small questions or comments about Lego Technic which don't need a topic of their own.") and even one named "Finding parts for Technic MOCs" Also, see what I did there? I provided clickable links to the pages in question. And it's our forum, you are as much a part of it as me or anyone else Quote
Dafgek81 Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Thank you, I will try to pay more attention to it. I would like to note that I like your swingloader mk III. Quote

Dafgek81 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 I have another question about the Actros, where can I get original pneumatic hoses in very long lenghts. Colours needed: Black Dark Gray Light Gray Bleu Need a lot off them Quote
Dafgek81 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) And another question, along side of the chassis beam between the rear axles there is a pneumatic cylinder, the ram is facing forward. Where does it connect to? Maybe one off the Ldraw whizzkids can give me an answer, or update the excisting Ldraw files from the Actros... Edited December 2, 2014 by Dafgek81 Quote
bonox Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) I have another question about the Actros, where can I get original pneumatic hoses in very long lenghts. Colours needed: Black Dark Gray Light Gray Bleu Need a lot off them You won't find very long lengths of genuine stuff (and it's expensive anyway). I would suggest you order stuff from a dedicated supplier. I use one here www.silicone-tubing.com.au but you'd be much better off finding a local one. Search for silicone hose or tubing. I believe you're after 4mm OD with 1mm wall (ie 2mm bore size), but you may want to check that yourself. I have also seen 2.5mm neoprene fuel hose used, but it's stiffer than the silicone and therefore harder to get around corners.. Your other option is to search for Lego pneumatic hose alternatives like http://www.techbrick...matic-lego.html edit: or perhaps try reading here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=93014 Edited December 2, 2014 by bonox Quote
