jaredchan Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Have you been to Hong Kong? In 2012, Legend Bricks pulled off its first group project, a full replica of Tsim Sha Tsui district of Hong Kong. We had nothing at the time and everyone basically emptied one's bricks collection to make it work, and it did fabulously. And then there was a dream - to make a model of the little island across the harbour, the heart of the city. Years passed and things changed, and while it seems the time is not right yet, I am fortunate to have the bricks, the freedom and will to put together a section of Central, just the way we wanted 3 years ago. Old Supreme Court Building with Prince's Building, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and the Cenotaph (From left to right) at the back. Old Supreme Court Building (Front) The famous tram or 'Ding Ding' is the cheapest way to travel along the north side of Hong Kong Island. At the back is HSBC Main Building, with its iconic lion statues at the Bank's entrance. Former Central Government Offices Bank of China Building, HSBC Main Building and Standard Chartered Bank Building (From left to right). Bank of China's headquarters is Bank of China Tower (Not in the model). And one more thing... Transformers staying a night at the 5-star hotel Skids by Arzlan Li 2014 is coming to a close and I just realised that almost all of my creations during the year are replica of something in real life - Hong Kong Public Housing in 1970s, Batman, Disney Planes... and this, a scale model of an entire section of Hong Kong's Central. It was a really serious and valuable learning experience (My research for building Public Housing in 1970s and Central had never been this extensive) and I think I had a pretty good brick year. Anyway, gotta build something more imaginative to liberate my creativity More pictures can be found on my flickr: Thanks for watching! Quote
robuko Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Amazing build Jared! Wonderful to see it in the brick! Quote
Lasse Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Amazing layout with many great details. Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Like othere said, great details! And the size is quite impressive too. I like the way you built the external scaffolding on the gray building, looks very sophisticated. Quote
kinggregus Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 There are some techniques I had never seen before particularly on the old supreme court office. This is a splendid build. I am amazed on how you got so many details by working in microscale. Quote
eurotrash Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Superb detailing! And I can see the room I stayed in at the Mandarin Oriental. Excellent job! Quote

WhiteFang Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Another outstanding piece of work, Jared! The entire layout is just mind blowing. You don't need to see the actual building images to find out where you are based on those designs. Quote
