Dufresne Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 About a year ago I moved with my fiancee from Boston to San Francisco. As part of the move, I had to sell my old 1986 Saab 900S, which was my first car, and which I'd driven persistently, through good times and bad, for 11 years. I miss it sometimes, and so I decided to immortalize it in LEGO! I went for accuracy over functionality, but still, the front doors and trunk both open, and the driver and passenger seats can recline. I also made a custom label to match my old license plate, and cheated a little bit with the hood ornament. (It's stuck on with a piece of stick-tack.) Everything else is purist, though! A couple more images can be seen on my Flickr account. Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Looks quite photorealistic. Can you make the rear doors open too? Quote
Dufresne Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 Alas, I tried a bunch of different solutions to make the rear doors open, but I couldn't get the shape of the door that I wanted, (having it go over the wheel well,) while still having the body be sturdy. Also all of the hinge solutions I tried looked hideous. In the end I just said "screw it" and made the rear doors unable to be opened. Quote
