UASMV Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hi, new member here and already the first question in regards to my newly purchased 42009 and 42025. Used the search function without success :( Both Sets are equipped with the 8881 Battery Box, but ive noticed the following: On the 42025, 8881 Battery Box, the Green LED only turns on if the Control Switch is operated in one direction. In neutral position the Green LED is OFF. On the 42009, 8881 Battery Box, the Green LED stays ON at all times [regardless of Control Switch Position] if equipped with 6xAA Batteries. The general function [providing power to motors and actuators] work, it's only the LED difference. Do I have a defect on the 42009 Battery Box or are they internally different [i was not able to identify any visual difference from the outside] Many thanks in advance! Cheers, Quote
Rishab N Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 That's definitely a defect as the LED should turn off when it is put in neutral. You could probably call Lego service and get it replaced Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Definitely defective, nothing should work when OFF. Probably a bad contact inside. I suggest you to remove batteries so that the LED doesnt drain them. Quote
NXT45 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 The BB from 42025 is good but the BB from 42009 is defective. You can get a replacement from LEGO at no charge. Quote
UASMV Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Thank you all for the quick reply! I going to replace it asap. Surprisingly, this is the very first time i experience a defect on any Lego items in a total of 15years of LEGO Cheers, Quote

I had a bad pneumatic pump once and some bad tubing that split apart when I popped it to the valve (it was from 8110 unimog). A common defect with motors is that the cable tends to lose contact especially if you pull the motor by the cable... So watch out for that. Edited November 2, 2014 by Zblj Quote
