XAxles Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Yo-Sub Joo, the man behind the BEHEMOTH that is the Avengers Helicarrier among other gigantic builds rendered in POV-RAY, has just come out with another large build. You are now looking at the "Ocean Platform Prison", and no, the picture above just won't do the immensity of this build justice. How large is this oilrig/container dept/research facility/prison/what have you is, you ask? Well, it's 298 studs (7.8 ft or 2.3m) tall, 90 studs (0.72m or 2.3ft) wide, and 240 studs (1.92 m or 6.2 ft) end to end, and built using 18,186 parts. And the level of detail is just astoundingly high. Just check these out: I am just plain impressed, so much that I wanted to show it here, and my jaw just went for an unscheduled maintenance procedure (which went on for 16 hours, mind you). This guy has a lot of large MOCs done in small scale, and they all look astonashing, especially that Art Museum. It's not only creativity and dedication, but pure talent that is needed to build all of that with Lego in such a small scale and with such high level of amazing details. Quote

Considering he used the larger lattice bricks that can withstand more weight, and coupled with a 32M axle for a spine on sections here, I guess it's possible to build this.Hey guys, just so you know, this is just part one of three features. I agree that it is likely that it could withstand some of the weight but I think there would be far too much torque on the lower outcrop area without some additional reinforcement. Renderings of massive projects are great, but there is a big difference between what works in a computer and what can really stand up when built for real. Top notch concept. Quote
