The problem of a second turn (a full one at least) is the total amount of parts that the final creation would count.

The present rules are made to size the RCB to about 5000 parts, a number of parts that LDD could manage if your computer is enough powerful. A full second turn will bring the count to about ten thousand parts, a number that could be very difficult to manage.

Didn't know about this!

It seems as if the base model is a little bit over-sized! Would be difficult to transfer the current models in this display to a smaller base model, I guess...

I don't think that it would be necessary to run a full second turn... maybe we get the problem solved by adding just a few more turns... we still have some guys as spares, don't we?

Or what about resizing the current model... what about integrate another street between the sheriffs office and the store building, because I think this is the main problem in the current working process to get this part filled with bricks!

Like I said, you can hide parts of the model which allows for LDD to run much faster because it no longer needs to render so many polygons.

The hide function could help, but it is not a final solution.

The function as it is implemented in LDD is a bit uncomfortable (it is impossible to selectively hide/unhide blocks, or explore the hidden parts in the model), and it is not helpful at all if the large amount of bricks crashes LDD opening the model.

Probably the best solution to apply if the need of a second turn arises would be to split the model in two parts, for example left and right side of the central street.

I'd give this a second turn!

3 builders left and alot to do yet. More, than I think they can do with the 300 piece max in place.

My computer should handle it. I have a model on here with 4000+ pieces in it, so I think I'll be OK!

Maybe give all 16 builders another full turn, but, limit the pieces this time to 100 or 200. 1600 pieces should be able to finish this model and flesh out the details. But, there is a big open space between the store and the jail, maybe a train station should go there. 200 should be able to finish the train station too.

I'm not sure this will help with what you're talking about, but baseplates in any model really slows LDD down, and makes it harder to place items too (IMHO). I usually hide them while building stuff.

PS: Just looked at the build now after Otakus turn. Looks great! For what it's worth, I straightened the model (couldn't help myself )

Do you guys like my sign for the saloon?! I'm very happy with it :laugh:

I had a look at the current model yesterday! And your Sign for the saloon is definitely an eye catcher! Congrats! I love it - I love the entire model!

I uploaded the models to the first post and sent it to the last builder.

I see that it's impossible to complete the model in 300 bricks so I will keep sending the model to the builders in order in which they appear under the 'spare' list until the model is finished. I'm thinking 5 turns or so should do the trick.

Glad you're alright Dave, I was getting worried!

I hope the magic doesn't get lost by splitting the model too much. I might advocate splitting into 2 instead of 3, so at least a bit more can be seen at once?

Edit: I am dumb, I didn't interpret your suggestion fully. Only question is, how will we update the complete model? Is that a LDD feature?

Yo guys!

I decided to fill in the bank, added the BANK text, a window and a vault.

I grouped the vault, so if anyone doesnt like its position it can be moved easily.

I also split the model as you can see here.

Here is the complete file:

Or a longitudonaly split section A
