Rikus Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Just wanted to share my Hamlet doubts with someone that could understand them... at least better than my wife! Some days ago, I happen to find a brand new and sealed (box just has minor shelf wear) 8475 RC Buggy and payed it less than a used one! I know the set is almost impossible to find as MISB (no BL shop own it and only one is listed on ebay, ATM) and the only reference price I found is over 4 times what I paid for it... so... now, I really don't know how to behave! By selling it I'd probably earn enough to buy a good used one... recovering the costs of the last (many) sets I bought, too... ...but I'm really tempted to open the box and enjoy the set as brand new... and to use RC parts for my MOCs...! What to do, now?!? To open or not no open... That is the question...! Edited September 25, 2014 by Rikus Quote
Lipko Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 You only live once. So I say put it under a steamroller. Quote
Mutant Orc Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Well, if the second hand prices are high then you may as well appreciate it now as new as you could still sell it at a later date and get a decent price for it. I'd open it. Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 @Lipko: that response actually made me laugh out loud :) Quote

Rikus Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 You only live once. So I say put it under a steamroller. That's a really crazy option! It reminds me people that buy the new iPhone6 just to shoot or chop it to post the video on the web!!! Quote
legomuppet9 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Open it, and weild the power of the RC motors! (I don't think that worked ) Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Lego is meant to be built and played with! Quote
Fissl Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Lego is meant to be built and played with! he's right! open and enjoy it! Quote
Balrog Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Open it, behold its glory, then destroy it with the steamroller Quote
zux Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I happened to buy same set (new, but box seals broken) about a year ago. No matter how I like some of my sets to be sealed and shelved I opened it and enjoyed every minute of those new and fresh RC motors. Quote

Rikus Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Lol... I already bought the batteries... while thinking...! Poll results, at the moment, are: OPEN IT 7 votes SELL IT 1 vote STEAMROLL IT 1 vote I'll sleep on it (It's night right now in Italy)... And tomorrow I'll do the choice... Quote
DuckBricks Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Open It!!! By the way, where did you find it? Quote
Balrog Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Please document the unboxing and so on Quote
Saberwing40k Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I think you should only sell it if you are an established seller on ebay/bricklink. If you are a first time seller, you might not get as much money, and may be sitting on it for a while. Quote

750ACE Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 If a few dollars more makes you happier than building the set...... open it!!! Otherwise start selling it. Quote
aol000xw Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 If your collection is big keep it, as a few sets more or less won't make a difference, otherwise sell it and spend the money in a few new sets for a better parts/dollar ratio. Quote
Rishab N Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Definitely open it and steamroll. The RC motors are a luxury few of us get so make use of them Quote
Nalyd997 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Is this a rhetorical question? Open it as you get brand new buggy motors which are quite rare. Then you can get a full use out of them Quote
