BimmerBoy Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone, I've browsed this website for awhile now, but this is my first post with one of my own ideas. I'm honestly not that into Technic, but the 42000 Grand Prix Racer set really caught my eye a few months ago. After I built it, I looked at it and thought the basic design reminded me of the Ferrari Formula 1 2011 F150 chassis (the nose in particular). And thus, the idea for this was born. Its about 95% complete, I still need to change out a few LBG pieces for Black and add Black panels in front of the rear wheels. The sponsor decal graphics are from the 2013/2014 car (I have an affiliation with one of the sponsors, and it was easier to get the decal set). The decal set is for a 1/10 scale Tamiya RC car, but they work well enough to suit me. The challenges were finding the right color pieces (unfortunately, some pieces I wanted in Red and White are simply not available), and trying to avoid STAMPS (stickers across multiple pieces). Where I had to employ STAMPS, I made sure they were applied to easily removable sub-assemblies. Enjoy! Edit: I apologize for the picture size, I'm new to this and working from an iPad. Trying to figure it out. P.S. There are some incredible builders and creations here in the Technic Forum!!!!! Edited September 13, 2014 by BimmerBoy Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Looks a lot better than the default 42000, mainly thanks to the more consistent colouring and stickers. Good job! Make sure to check out 8674 as well: Edited September 13, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote

Splat Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 @BimmerBoy - Great work, and thanks for sharing your picture. For reference/comparison, here is a pic of the real F150: Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I like your version a lot better than the official set - it really does look a lot like the real car. Grat idea and welcome to the forum. Quote
OzShan Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 That looks awesome. So much cleaner than the original stripy scheme (of which I have one on the shelf). Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Nicely done! I wonder how the tumbler wheels would fit there. Quote
PROlego Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Try to put motors without changing the look. It will be even better. Quote
