Zerobricks Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 In order to pass the time to get the real thing, I built this little thing. The basis is on the mini 9398, but as with the real Boss there are several add-ons and improvements. The hood was very tricky to do and could not be done flat with my limited blue parts collection Notice the stripes and the winch Notice how the rear bumper is attached to the body. Not much room left for luggage, but hey it at least has a bottom! When you open both doors, you can lift the body Notice how crammed everything is inside In order to hold the body upright, there are 2 small arms which automatically trigger by the rubber belt (white) when you lift the body. Anyone wanna guess what this is? The lower 12 tooth gear is steering, while the upper 12 tooth gear is..... THE WINCH. Yes, I managed to cram and motorize the winch! When the gear is pushed in, the function is powered. In this case the power is tranfered to the winch. Only downside is, you cannot steer and winch at the same time. And the usual peek under. Compared to the mini 9398 steering is smoother. And how the dark blue verison would look if i had such parts. Dont know why it looks too violet to me... Video comming soon! Quote
Tubby Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 That looks brilliant! There's me talking about making sets massive and here you've turned a massive set into a tiny one! How long has it taken you to design and build it? Quote
just2good Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I'm not even a huge Technic fan, but that's so adorable! I wanna take one home, 'Zblj'! Cuusoo this! Quote
Someonenamedjon Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Now all you have to do is to add the licences plate when you receive the actual set! Quote
bord4kop Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Looking very good Excelent how you managed to get all the functions in there and still get the looks, awesome! Quote

Alternator Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I love this kind of thing :) when I first looked I thought it was just a basic little model (good looking one), I didn't realise you had crammed the feature set in too. Looking forward to seeing it in action Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nice job Zblj. I look forward to the video. Quote
Junpei Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I don't know if he's going to make a video, you could always just see his mini 9398, I guess this one does have the winch function and smoother steering though. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Zblj would you be able to share the LXF file of your 41999 tribute? Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 I did, link is in the video description. Quote
