Zerobricks Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Good replica. Do the functions work, etc? Quote
Samer Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Nice job, I couldn't find a difference. You even used the new part colors. Waiting for the update and the functions details. Quote
captainmib Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Why do you think it got canceled when you look at the model? Quote
legolijntje Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Why do you think it got canceled when you look at the model? I'm not too sure if it's cancelled. It could also be delayed. A Dutch webshop brickshop.nl says it's delayed until January 2017. Of course I don't know if that's for sure, but that particular webshop very often has future sets correctly listed early on. Quote
Jonfensu Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I am wondering how you, dokludi, make those replica with only images and videos. About 42051, it looks like a great source of 5x11 Red Panels to build the Lucio's Airport Crash Tender Edited February 25, 2016 by Jonfensu Quote
powder12321 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 In my country, Poland, i dont see ths set. Ithe catalog i cant find it to :/ Quote
BusterHaus Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I was really looking forward to this set and I'm glad you made a replica. Will you be posting any more pictures of your version? Quote
higgins91 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 In my country, Poland, i dont see ths set. Ithe catalog i cant find it to :/ this set was canceled ! Quote
dokludi Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thank you all for your positive comments !! I shared with new pictures and a video. Quote
BusterHaus Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Excellent functions - it's great that you included the option to add PF like in the original set. Thanks for making a video and posting the additional pictures. Quote
Jonfensu Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Impressive... How many pieces did you use? Quote
agrof Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I am always impressed by Your reverse engineering skills, just fantastic! Here You used a lot of your imagination, in my opinion You even overengineered it, this probably contains more features, as the planned 42051 - just my feeling. p.s.: I am not a fan of the music, but it has nice bittersweet hint knowing the history, great! carlo.fadel Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 very nice and lovely truck.. could you share any sort of instruction or piece list please? thus helping unable like me to replicate the model . Quote
Tomik_Czech Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Yes dokludi, please make instruction, because i love this replica :) Edited March 1, 2016 by Tomik_Czech Quote
Chr.Maglekaer Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Nice...! I hoped that it was one that could make a "copy" of the set. I think that you have done it very well. Quote
Pomodoro Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Very nice replica of the set. Regarding this set being cancelled, it did actually show up in Nuremberg in late January! In this , if you watch carefully, you'll see it on the screen behind the Lego employee: It might eventually show up later than expected. Quote
Chr.Maglekaer Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I can not remember where I read it, but it is rumored that it may come in 2017 instead. Quote
DrJB Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Nicely done ... from just one picture???. This somehow reminds me of 8454, which looked very 'futuristic' when it came out. Quote
Pomodoro Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I can not remember where I read it, but it is rumored that it may come in 2017 instead. It's listed as cancelled or postponed to 2017 on Brickset. Quote
dokludi Posted September 22, 2016 Author Posted September 22, 2016 I finally finished the construction manual. It was not a perfect guide, are included fixes (updates) but I think it can be built to 42051 (replica). Of course, free of charge and can be downloaded here: Parts list: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3XmEQgJUrk5Z1Z3SllUbnJFcWs/view Building instructions: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B3XmEQgJUrk5WHJhRmV4Z05sb2s&export=download Quote
WvG_853 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Thanks! I'm still amased by the reverse engineering you did on the basis of one picture. Quote
grum64 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) This is some feat of reverse building. I'm still at a loss to know why TLG ditched this. Thank you for the instructions and for making them freely available. Edited September 24, 2016 by grum64 Spelling correction Quote
