What's the best Minifigure ever made?

Out of the classic minifigs, Captain Red Beard, as others have mentioned, was my favorite minifig as a kid and still stands as one of the best ever today. Out of the more modern minifigs, it's a tough choice since LEGO's printing abilities have become so much more varied and complex. But I am gonna go with the Golden Knight! It has awesome printing and it's a great concept as well. I could totally see it being my favorite fig if I was a kid today.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

I love the S4 figs, specially the Musketeer, the Viking, the Painter and the Sailor! But am I the only one disappointed with the scientist? The flask is cool, but the fig itself looks a little too "sci-fi evil scientist" to me. That hairpiece just look odd. And I certainly don't like the weird goggles... I hoping for something more in the vein of Albert Einstein or even Doc Brown from Back to the Future if they wanted to be a little more cartoonish. Overall, great series though!

I didn't know vikings did not wear horned helmets until I read your comments. Since you are both Scandinavian, I figured you two would be right, but I also checked Wikipedia: "There is no evidence that horned helmets were ever worn in battle throughout the Viking Age, or indeed the Migration period." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horned_helmet) The funny thing is that TLG, being a Danish company, should have known better, don't you think? Then again, how else would people easily recognize the figure as a Viking? I guess they just had to go with the stereotype...

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

I am a big fan of the Armada faction and I would be happy with their possible return. However, I am just hopping for some awesome minifigs with detailed torsos and legs regardless of color! I never really understood the whole blue/red coat obsession that some have So as long as they're not some outlandish, ridiculous color (eg. lime green or purple) I am happy!

    Pharaoh's Quest 2011

This looks f*cking cool! I am usually a Pirates/Historical Themes guy, but I've always been fascinated with the Adventurers theme, so I think I try to collect this revamped version. I'll hold off specific comments/criticism until final versions are out, but so far everything looks promising!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

Every series so far has had only about 5 figs I am willing to get and this one is no exception (Elf, Mummy, Cyborg, Pilot, Tennis Player) The rapper is hilarious! If you had told me 15 years ago that LEGO was gonna come out with a "rapper" minifig I would have thought you were insane. Now we need a rocker minifig of some kind, perhaps a 60's, Beatles-esque fig, or a late 70s punk rocker with a mohawk. The gorilla is cool but I am not sure if it's supposed to be a guy in a costume, an actual gorilla or a Planet of the Apes type of hybrid!

Eurobricks Raffle and Mystery Treasure Hunt

Of course! I never said the raffle was unfair or that I expected to win automatically. Quite the opposite: if you read my post earlier I specific mentioned that the contest was fair and congratulated the organizers for it. I was just making a light-hearted comment poking fun at the idea that knowing that all winners had 16 entries would make us feel better Truth is: it doesn't make a difference who won! All those with the same number of entries were subject to the same probabilities. So, no. No bitterness from my part. Congrats to the winners!

Ha! Quite the contrary. That means our odds were unnecessarily decreased! Oh well...
  9. Hi, Archer! I have a weightlifter, a ringmaster and a cop (all sealed). I would trade them for an adventurer, a vampire and a mexican.

I share your grief. I've had no luck with these minifigs...(drove for over 1hr yesterday to find a Target that had them and realized I had forgotten my barcodes! but I digress...) Thanks for the opportunity, anyways! I felt the contest was fair. A few clues were obscure and difficult to solve, but I think the time given to solve them was enough. I have been an AFOL and member of the forum for only 9 months and I still found all 16. I do think, however, that the difficulty of the question was inversely proportional to how well you knew the theme. For example, the Karate Master was pretty hard for me as I've never watched SpongeBob, but the Mime, Pharaoh and Explorer were extremely easy (found them in less than 1min) as I am a big fan of Castle and Adventurers theme. Specifying what type of thread (review/MOC/discussion/contest entry) the fig was in was also extremely useful. So...though I am sad for not winnning, good job to the EB team for organizing this. Well done!

Eurobricks Raffle and Mystery Treasure Hunt

Fun contest! I did find all 16, though I admit the witch gave me a big headache. I did search and found the link to the Mafia Games early on, but the name "game" threw me off and I thought it wouldn't be in a "game" thread. So I started reading too much into the clue and for a long time I thought the Witch was "suitably paying for her crimes" in the Eurobricks Chamber! I ended up spending a long time going through a bunch of "build the chamber" contest entries... BTW, if any of you don't know what the chamber is, do a search, it's kind of an interesting concept to punish misbehaving members. So in the end, I did learn a lot about the forum and Lego history.
