HMS Conquest, WIP through to completion

looking good One suggestion, try staggering the gun ports for a slightly better look - a checquered side pattern (apologies if this has already been mentioned, i skimmed over the posts)

    HMS Knight

I like it - it's a nice custom piece on an established model Well the royal navy shipyards built their ships to established patterns - maybe the BSB is a captured Navy ship

    HMS Prince of Wales

she's definately a beaut - worth the wait to see it if there was one thing that I would consider changing, it would be the standing rigging due to the nature of its use, the standing rigging was usually tarred, and would therefore appear darker than the running rigging other than that minor thing i am in awe sir she is truely a masterpiece

    WIP: HMS Unicorn

not looking bad at all mate - the cabin windows look very much like what i had in mind for mine as captain green hair has said - a little more length in the hull would bring the side profile more into proportion it looks like you have a 3 stud gap between gun ports - i went for 4 another thing is the location of the main hole to the deck below (apologies i dont know the right term for this) I have been using the victory as my reference - i dont know which ship you are using for yours (so you may be right with respect to your reference), but on the victory the main "hole" is between the fore and main mast not the main and mizzen kep it up fella - she looks great

so how many middle sesctions did you use?? i just got some more plates for the decks today - put them in and think i need to rethink the internal columns fun and games I need to see an update fella!!!!!!

Well only one deck will have the orignal lego cannons on - so that's about 30 cannons, the others will all be built up using ideas from some of the cannons made by other people on here Good spot - its funny how you (me) can look at something everyday and not spot something as simple as that

Have you worked out how long yours is gonna be?? one of the things i changed on mine was the length - i took out a middle section - there are only 11 middle sections now the reason for this is, if you look at the earlier pics of the rear cabins - there was a massive void between the slanted cabin bit and the gun ports on the upper decks - so i took it all apart, rebuilt it about 3 studs back (i think), removed a middle section and built it a little bit more forward as well Not at all - i copied a lot from your tumblehome - so i think if anyone should be bothered - it should be you Yep - already named, i couldnt find a way to change the thread title - i think i'll have to ask an admin to change it so it has the name of the ship in the title Any updates on yours?? I got parts coming daily at the moment - but i cant get the deck plates in the quantities i need from one supplier, so it will take a while to get any further I'm not sure how to mast her yet - so i will be asking for help on that soon - i'm not sure if i will get the right look with the standard masts - but i'm not sure i'd be able to do them justice scratch building them....... Speaking of masts - they were placed with repect to their locations when the sides were in their "old position" so they are now not in the right place for the "new positions" of the sides - i will rectify this once i get some more parts

    WIP: HMS Unicorn

if he builds it like mine then it will be solid already - i pick mine up all the time and it's fine - even with the hull sections missing - so once all the decks and bracing are in it'll be like one piece of lego

The Iron Cross a BS find

Looking at those hull sections i am quite suprised at how well this ship has turned out The original iron cross pre dates the Iron cross of WW2 by about 100 years

well this is what i kinda had planned I need some more bricks so i can play around with it for real as i designed this before the tumblehome was added, but you'll get the jist I've also been working on where the poop deck should sit and the height of the walls for that today - again onluy in rough till i can order some more bricks (photos to follow tomorrow)

    MOC: Forte Branco

Very nice Fort fella Only a couple of suggestions 1 - the size of the walls compared to the usable space inside the fort seem a little out of proportion - if you have the bricks maybe extend the straight sections of wall a little to make the inner square larger or 2 - after seeing how you made your angled walls, it is evident that there is a lot of empty space within the walls, perhaps you could build some buildings into the cavaties in the walls to make the fort look bigger an ingenius way of making angled walls - i like it All the best Matt
