  1. Will future series contain a super rare figure like Mr. Gold? While I did find a Mr. Gold I would hate to see Lego keep the trend of very limited figures in theses series. On a side note I received the Lego Minifig encyclopedia the other day and the page for Mr. Gold said something like " Its Rumored that those who find Mr. Gold will have a lucky day" Oddly enough the Saturday I found one I also bought a powerball ticket and a scratch off. The powerball ticket won me 7.00 and the scratch off won another free scratch off. Just thought it was kinda funny. I was unusually lucky as I never win on those things.
  2. I like her for the furry party. Bumblebee Girl, Sad Clown Trendsetter (only for the Chihuahua) and Paintballer are my favorites from the series.
  3. I would have been happy with the set without Mr. Gold. However I am excited I found one. I actually figured I had slim to no chance of finding one in my state. Looking at the Mr. Gold tracking there have been none reported anywhere close to me. To be honest I really wish Lego would not do this sort of thing. I find it annoying and it just screams for scalpers to pick over the product. I rank it right up with Con exclusives. When you look at how many lego collectors there are adult and child, exclusives that are super hard to get are just a slap in the loyal customers face. It sickens me to see how much Mr. Gold fetches on ebay in most cases as much as 25,000% profit (based off 2.99 cost.)
  4. In my head he is. He comes in series 10 boxes he is the hidden 17th figure of the set.
  5. The box packout seems odd this time around. My dad picked up 38 packs for me and out of those I ended up short 3 minifigures (grandpa, Medusa, Librarian. I had over 6 Roman soliders and 6 Bikers. I go to my closest target and they had the 120 case. They pulled it fresh from the back I spent an hour feeling up packages and completed my set. Out of 120 though there were only 2 Medusa figures. This past Saturday I went to 2 targets and 1 toys r us. At the first target they had the 120 pack but it was picked through and only about 16 left. I felt them and found no Mr. Gold. I go to the 2nd target and they had 2 120 pack cases out. Since I was only look for Mr. Gold I was able to go through them in less than a hour. I felt through the first box and no Mr. Gold. I down to the 12th pocket on the box and thought I was imaging things but I found a Mr. Gold. I felt the rest just to see what they were. I checked TRU which had about 18 packs and found nothing special. I am totally shocked that I found a Mr. Gold. Now I feel my set is complete.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

That sucks I would rather buy from Game Stop. There is a chance I could have gotten 2. I guess I could pre order multiple from Walmart and maybe return the game. I just want 2 so I can open one and keep one poly bag sealed.
  7. I found a box at a Toys R us in Louisiana. I found 14 then had them check the back to see if they had an unopened box. Luckily they did so I was able to find the other 2 needed. I feel proud I had 100% accuracy.
  8. Yes I agree I spent a bit much for the mini figure. Its unfortunate that supply and demand dictated such a high price for the figure. However this is a figure I really wanted and I do not want to miss out on one. I originally set a price to spend at about 75.00 but obviously that was not going to happen. I do not feel I over paid as I have seen Bizarro sell for much more then 132.50. I do however take issue with the sellers lack of an accurate picture. The seller was willing to take it back for a full refund after he "inspected it" when he said that it made me kinda worry that just sending it back for a refund might be more difficult than necessary. I opted to keep the figure with a refund of 32.50 which put the cost at an even 100.00. I feel at that price I believe I could flip it and recover all cost even with me pointing out the marks. I on fbtb.net I noticed the pictures they posted had face print issues on the sad looking face. Even with the flaw I am just happy to have one and content to not have to keep watching auctions to get one. Thank you all for your input.
  9. This is a real Bizarro. I only paid 132.50 so kinda average price. The seller while not overly difficult to deal with just does not want to come down much. I called Lego and was told since this was not mass produced. There are no replacement parts for it. So thats out. Its either keep or send it back and try again. I am kinda leaning to sending it back and try again. I like the angry face more then the sad face and the missing tooth kinda bugs me. Especially since the pictured item was perfect looking.
  10. So I bit the bullet and bought a SDCC Bizarro on ebay. I paid 132.50....way more then I wanted but I really wanted the mini figure. The seller had 2 of the Bizarro's and only took a picture of one and used the same picture for both auctions. Well the picture posted to the auction Bizarro looks fine...however thats not what I received. This is the sellers picture. The problem is with the face printing. There is a spot missing under the right eyebrow and on the lower right side of the mouth. The defects are not present in the sellers picture which is why I actually bid on it. I am trying to work it out with the seller. The seller is offering a discount, unfortunately I have no clue how much of a discount is fair. Any suggestions? It kinda bugs me, especially the mouth. Thanks.
  11. I think they reject projects more due to the cost of license. It could be the cost of the license will exceed expected purchase. Say the "Shaun of the Dead" license is 3 mil.... The Winchester set would retail for 199.00. There are 10,000 likes with the project so saying if all 10,000 of those people bought it for the 199.00 price they would only return 1,990,000. That kinda comes up short in the profit range. You also have to deduct cost of production as well.
  12. I am kinda disappointed in the DC offering. I really expected to see some new mini figures. I want Manbat, Green Lantern, Flash, Cyborg, Clayface to name a few. I really do not need a 3rd Ivy. While a Joker is always welcomed I have 2 and would not mind waiting for the 3rd. I really do not think Penguin or Scarecrow needed updating either. The Marvel mini figures are a nice surprise. I wanna see more Avenger or X-men related figures though.
  13. Actually they do come from his back. I noticed this while paying Lego Batman 2. Manbat has actually become one of my favorite characters in the game. The wings are on his back and it also forms a tail like piece.
  14. Err, and now it begins..... I hope no one pays that much for one of these mini figures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Shazam-minifigure-mini-fig-San-Diego-comic-con-2012-dc-exclusive-/360473043938?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53edde23e2
  15. So you like paying 100.00+ for a minifigure? I do not. These are characters that are part of marvel and dc history. They appeal to lego collectors and comic collectors. They should not be exclusive to a con and never appear in a set. From a business stand point it makes no sense to limit these to 1000 and give them away, when you could shove them in a polybag, put them on your website with x amount purchase required or put them in a set. I realize this is to drive interest to the lego panel's but to never include these in a set is ridiculous. I would love a shazam mini figure but at 100.00+ for something someone paid nothing for....I dont think so. Thats not to say it has no value. Hopefully these make it to a set even if they have to make some change to the minifigure so they can keep the other exclusive.
