  1. OK, thanks. That's what I suspected, hopefully he'll get a surprise next week. He might not have touched a Lego brick since his kids actually were kids back in the 90s but as a car nut I'm sure he'll enjoy the Caterham
  2. Any Canadians who are regular users of Lego's Shop at Home service, could you answer a query for me please? Basically I want to send a gift to my uncle in Vancouver. I tried using the US S@H site and it wouldn't let me put in a Canadian address, so I went to the Canadian S@H site and with the exchange rate currently the price for the gift is within a dollar or two of the US price. Lego will ship it free of charge to the Canadian address but it ships from the same Southaven MS location as deliveries to the US. So, as it's being shipped across an international border am I going to get hit with customs charges, or is everything covered by the fact I'm being charged VAT on the order?

    Do these fit together

OK, let's try different approach. Does anyone know what the diameter of the individual studs on top of the alarm clock happen to be. The mug DOES have an indentation on the underside, I know that to be a fact, I've had one in my hands in the past. It's a scaled up replica of the mug that appears in practically every single City set.
  4. Just doing some shopping for my son's birthday and wondered if anyone had tried this or knows the answer. There is an upscaled mug available Item 853465 and a large 2x4 alarm clock Item 2856236 So I was wondering, are the studs on top of the alarm clock compatible with the indentation on the underside of the mug?

    REVIEW: 21307 Caterham Seven 620R

Reading the comments on the nose I was expecting a much worse connection than mine actually has. The only time the nose came off on my model was when I lifted the front of the car from under the nose, first making it go horizontal against the hood and only then did the connection come away. For myself i was more disappointed with the backs of the seats having the gaps on both sides near the top. As for a flimsy connection, a little more effort could have been put into securing the dashboard than just that single red axle piece. However, it looks great put together sat next to the Mini and the Camper, especially after not paying full retail ($79.99) price for it. Let my son play with it, same as i did with the Mini and the Camper, once he realizes how awkward it is for them to turn corners his desire to lay with them is over and he's happy to just look at them on display. Every once in awhile he might take one down, but as soon as something falls off he tells me, I fix it and he says I can put it back

Fun in the Park Set (23% off)

If you don't me trying to be helpful to people by pointing out a popular City set is on sale in the section of the forum dedicated to that product line, then simply don't read what I post, put me on ignore in fact. I have as much right as anyone else to post here, especially when I'm posting about Lego

    S@H site is terrible

I've been trying to review my recent orders and it keeps wanting me to sign into my vip account again, and then again, and then again, and .. well you get the picture. It appears to just be total pot luck if it actually shows me my recent orders, 49 times out of 50 it just goes back to the previous 'please sign in to your account' screen. Not that I'm looking to buy any more at the moment, there's too much unbuilt at home at the moment both in sets my son isn't playing with as well as the stuff we haven't even opened. Add that to my wife saying "no more building" as we have an entire table taken up with Christmas sets from the last 3 years, and I had to 'hide' my VW Camper, Mini & Yellow Submarine because she wanted the shelf space for her Christmas ornaments. I'm just grateful I have a storage room off of the room I'm in now that is impossible to walk into because of brown shipping boxes piled up (one of which is still hiding the ferris wheel she still doesn't know I bought during the first double points period this year (I'd tell you when that was, but I can't access my previous orders on the S@H site). I'm thinking it was just before Easter because I know I added to an order of some firefighter and police minifigs I got for our son, basically to qualify for free shipping.

    10254 Winter Holiday Train

Used some vip points and a total of about $6 in cash to get this when it was released. My 6 year old saw a finished one running and said it was great and he loved it and we needed one for under our tree. THAT was the only review I give any recognition to
  12. It's retiring soon on the US site too. The fairground mixer is a great build and real fun to play with. Turn out the lights in a room and run tt in the dark. If you've got kids and limited space it's also great because it folds up onto just a couple of trucks so you can park it out of the way without dismantling it. If you haven't already, go to Lego's youtube channel and watch the Designer Video for this set where Jamie shows you all the cool features. If you like your sets to be powered instead of hand cranked pick up an M Motor and battery pack at the same time. For an "OMFG how did he think of all that?" experience as you put it together it's in my mind the best currently available Creator set

Received our first LEGO Train (60051)

AAA batteries, they don't last very long once your kid starts playing. Stock up in advance, buy rechargeable, 2 or 3 sets the train uses 6 at a time and you'll burn through those VERY quickly, the remote uses another 3, but they last for ages. Alternatively you can get the rechargeable battery pack from Lego, but that's about $50 AND you still need to get the charging cord, not sure of the price of that but I'm thinking $30...
  14. I've heard a rumor that there's a special place in Hell reserved just for scalpers
  15. Grabs the bag of popcorn, sits back and watches, waiting for this one to be locked too
