yeah.. somehow nicer than original even though there are inaccuracies.. the UCS tie interceptor is another one that got me looking at the movie version.. however, looking at the movie version, i was quite suprised to find it with much shorter wings, making it look slightly.. for a lack of a better word.. fat..

Quite true especially the sideways droid (better view? Haha).. But the longer engines in the set made the y-wing more elegant for me.. And made me look at the movie version

Which Lego star wars set made u change your mind over the original version from the movies? For me it was the 7658 Y-wing.. I have only knew the x-wings n ties.. Until I saw the Lego y-wing.. It's a thing of beauty! Looks even better than many of the one piece replicas out there.. Gonna watch the original trilogy again just for that.. So what's yours?

it was the UCS imperial star destroyer for me.. saw it in a shop 4 years ago.. thought it was expensive so i didnt get it as i just started working.. saw it again 4 years later at double the price but i had a little more spending power.. so i got it.. then i decided to just get the iconic sets just to have a little collection.. 23 sets later i'm almost complete with the ships n vehicles collection (i collect only from ep 4, 5 and 6).. its when i realised.. THEY R ALL ICONIC!! could the money be better spent somewhere else? maybe.. but i wouldnt be half as happy..

nice comparison shots fallenangel.. i think the 6209 captures the 'beat-up' look better.. the new one looks glossy?

wow thanks for the instructions.. true about the exaggerated cannons.. i suppose its more toy like for playability i'm from singapore.. had wanted to start lego starwars 4 years back (but didnt).. only got into it 2 months ago.. was shocked that prices are 100% up for UCS sets.. but i must say no regrets at all.. i just love them so much.. good thing my wife loves them as well, n we r splitting the costs

@blackicep8ntball u could be right.. @fallenangel, looking at ur pics i realised the newer tantive does seem closer to the movie.. definitely not a slacker as i thought it was.. its not gonna feel so bad if i cant get an original one at a good price..

Hi sorry dont know if this is the right place to ask.. but here goes: should i spend 2-3 times more on the UCS rebel blockade runner 10019 instead of getting the newer tantive IV 10198/ i have most of the UCS set and am thinking of completing the collection.. i looked through the reviews in this forum and it seems the original is slightly more detailed with impressive engines.. and the description stand.. anyone care to enlighten me?
