  1. Yo guys, this is a model I've been working for the past week. The idea behind it is that the 6 wheels can support the modele in the water in order for it to swim... While it kind of works for the bare chassis, as soon as I added the cabine and the bed its swimming characteristics degraded to those of a rock... While I usually dont really post many unfinished/failed models I decided to make an exception with this one since I think there is potential for a redesign or simillar. So here's the main picture. I used the panels from the unimog for the bed. Also the bottom of the bed is actually studded in order to reinfroce the chassis. The sides of the bed can be opened. You can clearly see a 8 bladded screw which was suppose to be used in water. Notice the high position of all the PF stuff. The chassis is made so the model has all wheel drive with a central coaxial differential like the original: Here's the bare chassis without motors and bodywork: The suspension uses lnear actuator brackets and bewel gears to power the wheels. Funny fact depending how you position the bewel gears, you can make the drive torque of the main axles help the wheels go over bumps. An earlier version actually used an automatic gearbox, but it was sadly too inefficient: And here's a video of the truck in action:
