Journey to the Center of the Earth: Chapter I: The Labratory
SirNadroj replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks very much guys! Glad you like it! Waiting on a few orders, and chapter II will begin... The text and the pictures go together, but the story line is crucial. It's like reading a novel: (generally) there are no pictures, just text. The pictures add to the text, though, of course, I'm putting much more time into the MOCs for pictures vs. the text. Too many pictures, I think, would ruin it. I liked the quantity I had in Ch. I, but obviously as the story progresses and unfolds, the picture quantity per chapter will vary. Nope, no comic books. For two reasons: it's a lot more work, and comics generally imply jokes and punchlines. Yes, the story will have a few funny parts, but it's overall supposed to be a serious story, and you'll get more of a sense of that as the story progresses. I'll be frank, I'm not much of a comic reader, I just like the text there. Though I do appreciate a good comic. Thanks. -
Well, keep in mind, the last set with a ninja wrap was the Slave I (Dengar), so if the one you got was white, I wouldn't be surprised. As far as getting the element off of LEGO, I would suggest not doing that in the future. Though very tiny, and probably costing TLC less than .01 cent to make, if this happens often, TLC would be losing money.

By being oblivious to some game called "Metal Gear Solid". Too funny!

Journey to the Center of the Earth: Chapter I: The Labratory
SirNadroj replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks. I'm sorry you feel like that. I invite you to take two minutes and read it. The text is kinda the whole point of this. You won't know what the hecks going on in the following chapters. Thanks very much for the kind words. The lifelites were very easy to use and were worth every cent! All of your questions will be answered in the coming chapters (I don't want to give anything away. ) -
Journey to the Center of the Earth: Chapter I: The Labratory
SirNadroj posted a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Journey to the Center of the Earth: Chapter I: The Labratory I present to you the first installment of my new narrative MOC series "Journey to the Center of the Earth" heavily inspired from Tokyo's Disneysea's attraction, and the famous novel. The lights are by "Lifelites". You will see a video of different sequences at MOCpages. Link to Chapter I, on MOCpages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/60163 The diorama is very rough around the edges, since, well, you aren't supposed to see them in the pictures. It's like a soundstage. Let me know whatcha think. -
Really cute. I love the use of the different sized palms ~ normally it would look bad, but it works tremendously well here. So many fun details, too. The jugs hanging overhead is a nice touch. And look! There's that Bikini Krabs! What's up with him again?

Good luck to my fellow opponents. Nice entries!

Who is responsible for the renaissance of Fabuland?
SirNadroj replied to Siegfried's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yikes! I'm not doing so hot! I'm actually really surprised, since the recent flood of Fabuland MOCs came directly after this one: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/54676 Renaissance...meaning "re-birth", and that MOC totally re-invented detailed Fabuland houses/MOCs. Sinner does have the Walrus sigfig, and it's a classic sigfig here on EB, but I don't know. The only choices I could fathom as re-inventing the theme are Hinckley first, then me second. -
Hi again SW4J! We meet again. Glad to have you back here ~ we've missed you!

Who is responsible for the renaissance of Fabuland?
SirNadroj replied to Siegfried's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah, this is an easy one. There are two answers: Hinckley and I. Hinckley, obviously, because he built many fine Fabuland MOCs way before I did, along with Fabuland Housewives. But let's not forget me. I guess it depends on what you mean by Renaissance. Hinckley's lovely MOCs were more official looking, and mine were more intricate and detailed (well, the outside anyway. Hinckley's buildings always had such wonderful details. ) So my MOCs were kind-of a "re-birth" of the official looking ones. . That's were I stand. Plus, we were the first two members of the guild. And I made the FBG group on flickr, though I'd give 100% of the credit for starting the guild to Hinckley. -
Yesterday, using coupons and gift certificates, I got two large PaB cups, one small PaB cup, a little racer, Coast Guard quad bike and a Chewie keychain for about $2. And today I placed a massive order of dk bley slopes for my Journey to the Center of the Earth series. Giant Mushrooms ON!

Fun with photoshoppe's blur tool. Thanks! Thoughts?

I don't like my picture floating around, you guys know that. But I did some artistic photoshopping for my Builders' Lounge portrait. Autumn my parrot even joined in! I give you the man behind the Fabuland goat.

Thank you kindly! It was not my intention to have this turn into anything steampunk, though that is how it turned out. What can you do when you have brown treads, bronze details, and tons of gears? Teaser picture for Chapter I currently in production. Stay tuned for the first installment sometime early next week. The dios will be lighted where necessary with "Lifelites". Excuse the terrible picture quality. That is only half the MOC. Don't want to give away too much.

Got the Advanced Lifelites kit, and some extras, for my Journey to the Center of the Earth expedition. Can't have beeping lab buttons, glowing crystals, or firey lava pits without em'! Check these guys out, they're really cool: http://lifelites.com/index.html

Here's the revised and modified vehicle I plan to feauture in my up-coming MOC series based on "Journey to the Center of the Earth". I call it: "The Mole" Yes, I know it can't drill or grind much above it: so how will it did tunnels through the Earth? Just wait for the story-line. It can fit three people, and plenty of tools and food. Thoughts?

Hey! (Sorry about the title being in the third-person! ) My ant attack diorama was chosen as the "MOC Of The Week" on LAMLradio, so I was interviewed! And, I spoke kindly about EB! You can listen to it here: http://radio.laml.org/lamlradio-43-lego-news-for-june-1st/ Don't forget to put me on your i-pod!

Thanks very much for the feedback in the other thread! (And keep it comin', those who haven't voted! ) It's pretty clear that most of you guys would like to see this "Journey to the Center of the Earth" taken the route of a story series. That's probably what I'll do if I can get a-hold of what I need. Here are the characters I've developed for this little venture of mine: Professor Kane Beckett Professor Beckett is a prominent, respected, and well-know scientist and archeologist. Born in 1899 in Wales, Kane grew up being inspired by math, science, and most of all: the Earth. Today, he continues his experiments and studies in a small labratory in northern Germany with the help of his trusted assistant "Rusty". Dr. Jacques Omaha M.D. Dr. Omaha is a very mysterious, though brilliant man. Winning the nobel prize in medicine, Dr. Omaha has treated and cured hundreds of ill people in France. He always carries with him a brown suitcase. But nobody knows what's inside... Miss Clarice Rommel A German-native young woman, Ms. Rommel was born into a very wealthy family. Having the best of everything, she always had what she wanted. But despite her "spoiled-rotteness", she longs for a husband that actually loves her, and not her family's money. Rusty Not much can be said about trusty ol' Rusty. He has served Professor Beckett humbly and loyally, and will help him build an ultimate contraption. Thoughts?

Let's not forget my Fabu-pirates.

As the title says, I am inspired by Tokyo's Disneysea's thrill attraction "Journey to the Center of the Earth" I'd like to make a large, wacked out diorama with strange creatures, glowing crystals and mushrooms, and a vehicle that has the capabilities to travel deep within the Earth... Here's part of a ride video (not mine, of course ): I want your opinon. Should I develop the characters and make a series of MOCs that tell a story? Should I stop at one dio? Let me know what you think, and if you think this has potential. Here's some stuff I made already: The Mole (vehicle) Characters (un-named) Strange, glowing crystalline substances: Odd, semi-artistic pic? Thanks very much for your help! (Because if I continue, I'd want to make it the best I can, and would be investing some money into it [bricklink ])

Jawa Head Decal and Red, Green, Blue Variations
SirNadroj replied to Shadows's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Very nice! Just like the real things. May I suggest blue variants, too (please )? They may make for good LEGO Universe darklings.
