  1. When I heard Marina, I immediately thought of this: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=6543-1 Unfortunately, it's not on the same level of quality...

    City '09?

Has anyone seen this? (Sorry if I missed it but I haven't seen anyone mention it) ------------------------------------------- Picture Removed by TheBrickster -------------------------------------------
  3. I noticed pretty much all the pictures on the board are gone and after visiting www.brickshelf.com, I get this message: "Brickshelf has discontinued operation. We apologize for any inconvenience." Does this mean it has shut down for good or are they only switching servers or making repairs?
  4. Why does LEGO need to pay licensing for Indy when they have the Adventurers theme?
  5. LEGO Whips Out A New License Posted by D_Martin on May 30, 2007 at 07:19 PM CST: During Celebration IV, one of the guys at LEGO wasn't being mindful of the crowds, or more precisely the two ears of said crowd, when he let it slip that they will be producing toys for Lucasfilm's upcoming Indiana Jones IV feature film. While details are a bit sketchy, it is safe to assume that these will be shown later this year. Hats off to trusted CTR friend Nick for the heads up. 6. Interesting new theme from LEGO to go along with the Cafe. Awesome: http://factory.lego.com/modularhouses/ EDIT: Gah! Didn't see the link in the "Cafe Corner idea" thread...my bad...
  7. You know, if you're going to talk about consoles, you might as well talk in proper terms. The console itself does not have better graphics? Are you saying you like the graphics on the case of the console? Games have graphics, consoles do NOT. The graphics all depend on the creator of the game. Whether the console can handle that, that's a whole different story. You should be talking in terms of hardware and in that case, the Xbox360 doesn't even come close to the PS3's power. The only games which slightly show the PS3's power are Resistance and Motorstorm but better games will be coming out in the next few years which should place Sony back on the map. The PS3 is clearly the best console out there (if you can't afford it, that's another story) but since I'm not a console person, I shall go with "None of the above".
  8. The trailers do not justice. This movie rocked. The movie takes fight scenes to a whole new level.
  9. Madness? This is SPARTA!!! X-D Has anyone seen 300 yet? I just watched it today (opening day) and I must say, the movie was just too sweet. We wanted to see it in the IMAX but it was all sold out so we bought a normal one two hours before the movie started. One hour before it, people started lining up and so did we. I must say, this movie exceeded all expectations and the trailers do not do justice. I mean, I cannot explain the pure awesomeness of the movie. Apparently, it received a lot of bad reviews but critics don't know what they're talking about. Go see this movie...now! Pay and buy the ticket because it will be worth it! Oh, by the way, I also saw Ghost Rider but it was pure garbage last week but it's pure garbage compared to 300.
  10. Or you can have a 9V train with 2 9V motors, one at each end of the train, so then when the front reach the plastic track, it will continue on because of the back 9V motor is still on the metal track.
  11. The drilling unit looks almost exactly like the drilling unit from Armageddon (except they drill on a meteor). I can't find a picture of the whole unit but maybe this will ring a bell: I sat it's a pretty cool theme. I remember seeing a whole alien Mars city made out of the original theme at a LEGO exposition and I'm pretty sure this is a nice expansion of the line. :)
  12. Alas!!! After more than 17 years, a movie will come out. I'm hoping it would be haleriously funny and a top movie. I'll definately be going to watch it. The teaser seems funny so I'm expecting great things.
  13. If you wish to discuss Prison Break, please make another topic for it. ;-) Yea...you'd think I'd know since I've been around for a much longer time but I was asking at a side to see if anybody watches it. It would be pointless to make a topic about it if hardly or nobody watches it. ----------------------------------------------------- On topic, when are the new seasons starting?
  14. Huh? It's 5:32 PM, March 31, 2006. I think you should wait until it's April 1st all across the globe before making any jokes. :-P
  15. I liked the 1st two movies. While they were no where near Oscar-nominations, they were fun to watch during a summer day. I can't wait until this one comes out. The Veilside Mazda RX-7 looks especially nice.
  16. I wasn't really a Stargate SG-1 fan until Stargate Atlantis came out. From then on, I watch both series. I download all the episodes each week (since the new ones are shown only on satellite and channels I don't have). I'm more of an Atlantis fan than SG-1. I've followed the story of Atlantis from beginning and I find the plot more intriguing. Glad to see that others around here also watch the shows. On the side note, anyone a Prison Break fan?
  17. 'Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy' (ALL) Developer Diary #2 - Screens LucasArts presents the first in a series of feature stories about LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (working title). You can expect stories like the one to follow periodically, until the game's release across multiple platforms this fall, each article further detailing certain aspects of the game. All the Characters in the Galaxy With so much credit given to LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game's creative design and charmingly unique premise (and rightfully so), it's easy to forget one of the coolest components to its success - characters. Lots of them. More than 50 altogether. In fact, you may have found yourself playing through the game multiple times just to unlock everyone from favorites like Darth Maul and General Grievous to more obscure denizens of the Star Wars universe such as Luminara Unduli and a PK droid. Coming this fall for multiple platforms*, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy further celebrates the characters of the Star Wars galaxy. In addition to providing another 50-plus humans, droids and exotic aliens to unlock, the game also places a greater emphasis on unique character actions. Also, console and Windows versions of LEGO Star Wars II allow you to import unlocked characters from the first game with a save file. It doesn't take Yoda's wisdom to realize that equates to more than 100 characters available for Free Play mode - not to mention the millions more you can create yourself via the game's unique customization system (look for further details on this feature in a future story). Director Tom Stone of TT Games (parent company to developer Traveller's Tales) leads a team whose love for both Star Wars and LEGO shines through in both titles. "By including all of these characters, we want to give fans of the last game and fans of Star Wars the opportunity to see all of their best loved (as well as some lesser known!) characters in the iconic LEGO mini-figure style," he says. "We had also set ourselves a challenge after putting so many characters into the first game. Believe it or not, we've actually surpassed that number with LEGO Star Wars II!" "And that's before you add in the original 50-plus characters to make well over 100 available," chimes in David Perkinson, producer at LucasArts. "We're actually closer to 60 for LEGO Star Wars II, even without a save file from the first game." But what good is having so many characters without them showing some, well...character? Thankfully, LEGO Star Wars II prevails by staying true to the likes of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia with character-specific attacks. Chewbacca rips arms out of sockets, for instance, while Darth Vader Force chokes enemies to pieces, Jawas disable droids with their ionization guns, and bounty hunters like Boba Fett, Bossk and IG-88 unleash thermal detenators to clear groups of enemies or to break through scenery. You might even recognize new abilities for characters making a second appearance in a LEGO Star Wars game, like R2-D2, whose periscope allows him to see where he's headed as he navigates the swamps of Dagobah. "My favorite character-specific move has to be the Emperor's Force lightning. I would hate to be on the receiving end of that," comments Perkinson. "I also love Obi-Wan's Jedi mind trick and the humorous ways it stuns its victims. When he performs his mind trick, Jawas get stars over their heads while stormtroopers' heads actually turn completely around." With so many characters available in LEGO Star Wars II, the game presents endless replayability possibilities as you take the character of your choice through Free Play mode. "You can make Darth Maul a hero of the Rebellion," says Perkinson. "Or you can have Grand Moff Tarkin take on the rancor at Jabba's Palace. Or help General Grievous train with Yoda on Dagobah." "Grievous training with Yoda would certainly be interesting, although I doubt he'd have the patience!" jokes Stone. "I'm looking forward to freaking out a young Anakin Skywalker and introducing him to his later self aboard the Death Star." NEXT MONTH: "Episode IV: Your Favorite Moments, LEGO Style!" 18. I would have posted those earlier but was afraid of getting flamed because so many people thought they were fake.
  19. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1627116 Is that a separate set? (the wagon with the skylight view)
  20. Have the 10 small Creator sets similar to these been shown around here?
  21. Didn't someone from LEGO say that they're not doing any other licenses and they will be concentrating more on their core products...
  22. Oh thanks...that brings some relief, though it's weird that Lego is getting all Asian all of the sudden. These were definately a surprise for me since I missed the previous topics and I had no idea what they were. I have a ton of work with school and I guess this is what you people call the "Dark Ages", so I don't follow every single that leaks out. At first, I thought it was an early April Fool's Joke. :$
  23. What the......what are these? I've never heard of these "Avatar"...when were they announced? And what the h*** are the "Avatar"? What's going on here??? They definately look...interesting.
  24. It better be on next-gen consoles and PC. I wanna see those little LEGO bricks in high definition. :-D
  25. How does he fit into the Bionicle storyline?
