  1. Thanks for the info *y* , I'll first check if I can find an alternative by myself, like in a store or around me
  2. Hello everybody. For my christmas I took some time to rebuild a layout with my oooold 7740 Electric inter city train I'm quite happy since it still works like a charm.. or nearly... The motor and tracks are ok but the rubber bands that assure frictions with the tracks are quite dry and break as soon as you touch them. So my train can't barely move with 1 or 2 wagons. So my question is quite simple : is there and alternative to such rubber bands like ultra common rubber bands or a trick to make it work like the old days ? Thanks in advance for your advices.
  3. I bought myself 7713 Bridge Walker vs White Lightning :-P
  4. *y* thanks for the info, I never bothered to read carefully the site :-$
  5. Yes , sure but when you take a look at this one : http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=9845 there isn't any "MS in front of the set number and take a look at this : http://www.hitechnic.com/index.html?lang=e...target=d18.html Seems third party products
  6. I was wondering If those were official products or some third party products that received the approbation of Lego ? The "MS" before the set number is puzzling me...
  7. I'm 31 and I never worried myself about the though of other people about my hobbies. And my Wife is very comprehensive, she even buys me some set from time to time, I guess it's love *wub* . My older daughter (4) is very happy about my lego passion , she just loves minifigs. The funny stuff is that she has her lego sets and me I have mine (those in my collection), of course she can play with my sets but since I'm maniac I always pass behind her to put everything in it's right place X-D As i say to her : "Every lego of Dady is yours, you can play with it as long as you try not to lose some pieces". Her sets I don't mind, she can play like she wants. The problem is that she likes Playmobil too :-X but since some month I tend o make a blocus on the buying of Playmobil. Sure it's sorta more "unpack and play directly" butit misses all the imagination and fun of building of Lego, but that's and other (looooooooooooooooong) debate ;-) As for my friends they think it's kind of cool for a hobby, the fact is that I love video games too so I have always good subjects of conversations :-P
  8. Absolutely, the prototype is so Hideous than I'm thinking it's more like a "filler" to test the design of the box than anything else. I can't imagine thaht lego would releasy such an ugly thing :-) I love this topic !! *y*
  9. Exactly what I was thinking about, The lever is the smallest piece I know from lego. The holes of the drain must be really small to not let pass this one.
  10. Ha yes ! I think you are right, I did not think about this piece. Nice work sherlock ! ;-) *y*
  11. We think we all noticed this already. Kind of a letdown.. :-( It should be cool with striking venom but 4 legs would have been waaaaayyy better....
  12. Me want that ! *wub* 8-
  13. This is really a good idea could be very usefull. But I wonder if there is special casing for bricks or the filter holes are tiny enough for not letting tiny lego pieces going down the drain (and possibly ruining the dishwasher)... Hmmmmm... and what about stickers ? :-D
  14. This is realy a great moc ! congratulations. I realy dig the 2 back turbines and the tubes near the knee and arms Just to say something... if I was you I would try to use 2 types of different weapons. try to replace 1 of the 2 nearly identical blades by something else, like a big cannon or lazer gun. like in the supernova. 9/10 though *y* If only the 2007 exo force sets could look this cool ;-)
  15. I wonder if Lego wil try to insert bionicle pieces somewhere in the sets ? X-D :-( Don't get me wrong I have nothing against bionicle, it's just the use of the pieces in other system sets that annoys me. But maybe I'm too nostalgic and must learn to live with my time...
  16. The '07 stes are clearly not as good as the 06 one. Lego seems to drag costs down by inserting more and more meta pieces. I was realy happy when I saw the first exo-force sets. Good use of "old" and normal pieces, not much bionicle pieces. But the 07 serie disapoint me somewhat. Also they look quite thin and not as menacing as the 06 mechas. And... where did the lightbrick go ? costs down, costs down... :-( So my conclusion for Lego : For the next exo-force sets , make a little effort and come with something more in the spirit of '06 and don't try to quick cash and ruin a realy good franchise.

  18. This news made my day !!! Now it's going to be a though period for my wallet between space sets and Exo-Force :'-( (and some technic for good measure) Let's hope good quality space sets like in the good old days (Classics / Blacktron / Futuron) but please no crap like ufo's etc etc.
  19. I couldn't agree more with your review. One of my all time favorite set. Too bad my old version is quite in bad shape and not 100% complete , i'm missing some white spoilers and one or two little bricks that hold the antenna on the back wing. I guess I played too much with this set when I was young :'-) My dream is to find one in mint condition , like yours. Concerning the alternative models I prefer the bottom right one, that flying saucer ship is sooo beautiful. I remember putting it together, it was realy awesome. This set deserves a 10/10 and a legend status. *wub* And I forgot : Thanks for this great review again, You are realy putting a lot of work in them.
  20. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo pleaaaaaase not an "impossible to choose" poll again :-P
  21. I wonder how many Blacktron message intercept base he had to buy to get all those big yellow transparent domes :-P
  22. I found this interesting take on classic space : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=206905 I just love the smoothness of the ship and the fidelity to the original theme. *y*
  23. It's kinda huge but not very well executed too much big plates lacking details. Look more like a playset but it seems not swooshable at all, it seems fragile. As said Starwars4J, reminds me of moc I made when I was 6-7 years old. I think the builder should take more time building small ships with more details instead of big plain ships. Bigger isn't always better... ;-)
  24. The choice is realy, realy hard. My top 3 are : - 924/487 classic space Space Cruiser - 6932 Futuron 'the 200 Jet' - 6929 classic space Star Fleet Voyager I didn't vote for the 924 classic space Space Cruiser because I think that it ressemble too much to the 928 galaxy explorer , looks like a scaled down version of it but don't get me wrong, it's still a GREAT ship. The 6932 Futuron was a close second because I just love the modularity of it and I think those 2 pods and the huge blue window and clever building techniques makes it one of the best looking of the lot. I don't know why but all the futuron sets looks so "peaceful" with the combination of blue and white. So in the end I voted for 6929 classic space Star Fleet Voyager because of the sleek design and I think it's still one of the most original starship lego ever produced. *y* God ! that was a hard choice since they all deserve my vote (and some others too) Please don't make more heart tearing polls in the future ! X-D
  25. OMG I didn't kno that Lego did this kind of "tricks". *n* In about 20 years of lego building I never found this kind of problem and I must says that I would be terribly angry if that happens to me X-O
