  1. I've only used BB for a couple of days now, but it's very useful. And fun. And timeconsuming since it's fun and useful... If you want to keep the program download-file to be as small as possible, do as others have said. Have rail and trainrelated buildings and structures pre-loaded and the other themes easily indexed for download. I can't/haven't got the time to make GIF's, but would very much like more sets from the 80's LEGO... Until somebody makes them I'll just use text. Wish list: more zoom in the GIF-list. One size larger would be nice. My latest layout.
  2. Very nice.
  3. As a kid any given set except for the Technics, once built and played with was taken apart and poured into the LEGO-bag for whatever MOC I would make up 'til I was 15. When my dark ages ended I kept the SW-sets in the cupboard, the AT-ST and AT-AT is still there. Town and train is built, displayed a couple of weeks, then put into the boxes S@H ship. (I've run out of them though now). Only once have I put everything up, most can be seen here: . I'm right now trying to get everything stashed again. My plan is to bring my town up twice or trice a year. I'm playing with Bricklink. More sets will be displayed from now on.
  4. Apart from the book cover, I now have a physical image on how one those cities might look. The books are kind of cybersteampunk, so this is just about right. Very nice.
  5. Great!
  6. Well, what 34-year old geek doesn't like SW in any form... I saw the, I think, first AT-ST with Chewbaka and ewoks on the Rodby-Puttgarden ferry going to France, then decided to buy it on the return. At that time I travelled a couple of time per year, so the collection slowly grew. On to the local shops. More Town, City, Shop@Home with the Classics they released then, and Ebay... Here I am, at least waay to many Euros later. No, I don't collect SW, but I'm never selling anything. I both regret getting the Death Star 10188 and Imperial Star Destroyer 6211, so much money!, but who can resist them!? The Darth Maul bust I regret though. Should have gone with the Statue of Liberty.
  7. No. It's built from leftover pieces and the instructions from peeron.com. But it's nice to look at!
  8. Beautiful.
  9. So the MISB I bought for 62 Euro a couple of years ago might pay for plenty of Grand Emporium and other sets...?
  10. You've captured the spirit of the building very nicely.
  11. Ok, so it's just LDD, but it's big for me. Inspired by Klaus-Dieters school, but without the small thingies many of you manage to cram into everywhere. I'm a little envious... This is the simple style that is Town that I like. It's very basic and I can't possibly afford it. 122 Euros... Come on! Not all buildings are fancy. /Johan
  12. Very oldschool design. I like it. May I use it for my town?
  13. Nice little set. As I look at my town, I realise as you did, the big houses really dwarf the Classic town sets...
  14. This time I simply have some areas without plates to set my feet on. Next time it'll be more complicated though... 6/7 studs width. I guess I just fancy Classic. It's simpler, less curves, plenty of visible studs... Back to basics, which for me is the pre-1985-90 models. Downloaded Bluebrick and some other Trainlayout-program to design a workable layout. Or I'll just trial-and-error it!
  15. As a kid it was mostly Town, later Technic. Starting again as a grownup I have a few SW-sets just for the awesomeness (Death Star, Imperial Destroyer and motorized AT-AT). Now it's Town (Ebay and S@H Classic retro sets), Train (9V), City (but not much, new sets contain to few BRICKS), and the big modular sets. My goal is a Town. Sometimes other sets can be useful as they are, Castles still exist today in real world, and the military themes in Indiana Jones look great, for the 40's-50's. Hopefully LEGO will exist for a long time. I might change my mind. MANY sets to get ahead! So, I voted "Two sets". Town/City and Train.
  16. Hello everybody My name is Johan, 34 years old. Almost always built LEGO, long break 1993-2001 something, when I discovered Star Wars, and Ebay... So, with a lot of help from Lego S@H, Ebay, the local cheap toystore, and an old geezer with LEGO not newer than 1996, I now have a collection of Classic Town, City and some Design, that's A LOT larger than what I could even dream of at 12 years of age. I'm not good at MOCs, usually only modify or copy excisting designs from LEGO and others MOCs. I don't really like the 5/6/7 stud-wide vehicles. My nephew had me set up the trains I have, and I got a desire to set up all my sets (I keep them all built). Here it is, overview: My City on Brickshelf A lot of roadplates are needed, but I can't decide on getting the easily available new black ones, or searching Bricklink. Also, what to have under the rail? Not in view are my unbuilt buildings. I need to start with them. I have 5891, 4996, 6754, 4956*2, 4886, 4954, 7641, 10182, 10184, 10185 waiting. Cheers Johan
