  1. by "everywhere" i actually meant North America. i'm gonna have to pick this up asap. if it's been on sale before i'm sorry for not knowing, i've only come back to Lego in the last 6 weeks. maybe i'll actually just wait and get this when i go back to Saskatchewan.
  2. i just got back from Toys R Us in Paramus, NJ, just over the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan, anyway, they have the Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser on sale there for $80. i just bought the $80 Ferrari Transport Truck the other day or i woulda picked it up immediately. unfortunately they only had one left, so i wonder if this sale is goin on everywhere. anyone else seen it at their local TRU? (sorry if this is the wrong place to put this thread).
  3. holy crap!! those are enormous.
  4. while i'm certainly not Canadian (nor am i an American, i'm a New Yorker ) my girlfriend is from Saskatchewan and i've spent a lot of time there over the last year. it's the only part of Canada i know but i feel like i'm Canadian by proxy sometimes.
  5. these old reviews make me wish that i hadn't ignored Lego for the last 15 years... sigh. great job though.
  6. truly awesome. only fighting game better in the last few years is Blaz Blue. those would be impossible to minifig-ize haha.
  7. well, i watched A New Hope last night and the verdict is... i absolutely loved it! there were a lotta things that were very 70's science and effects about it, but i couldn't care less, the story is just that wonderful. was it cheesy at times? unbelievably, but all i have to say is that i can't wait to watch V.
  8. wow, that's an incredible plane. i've only ever flown Embraers, and i find them incredibly cramped, but i love it. and thanks for the great review, doodz.
  9. well, i'm gonna be snowed in tonight. got myself the Pirate Tank (7753... which i've been super excited to get and finally came from S@H today) and a copy of A New Hope. i'll be puttin it on as soon as the Knicks are finished losing. my friend told me i should be prepared for my mind to be blown. somehow i think that's a bit much haha.
  10. i'm pants-wettingly excited to get my copy at midnight on Monday night. here's to hoping for as many amazing quotes in this one as there were in the original.
  11. great review! i really appreciate all the work you did for this. i was never really interested in Castle as a kid, nor am i now, but the figures here really make me like this. if it was $15 i would get it for sure... somehow $20 just doesn't seem justifiable.
  12. i've created a monster! haha. btw, i'm gettin ahead of myself here, but how do i watch the Clone Wars? should i just DL them or...
  13. i've played (and loved) every single game in the series except Crack In Time. prolly my favorite game series ever. the best one in the series was, IMO, Up Your Arsenal, but it's such an incredibly hard decision. i can't wait to get around to Crack In Time, which i have purchased but just haven't had time to play yet. where do you guys think it falls compared to the others?
  14. this might be the most creative and beautiful MOC i've seen here yet. i wish i could make things as unique as this. simply great... if this was a "real" set, i'd buy it in a minute.
  15. thanks again to everyone for their two cents. i've heard that Episodes 1-3 are pretty childish, but that never stops me from doin anything. i do enjoy Lego and Fall Out Boy, among other things, after all haha. i'll let you guys know what i think about A New Hope after i watch it late tomorrow night. i'm actually a little worried that it's been way too over-hyped, but i thought the same thing before i saw the Godfather last year and that was only a slight letdown. i also worried about seein The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, and that actually was better than i ever could've imagined. at the very least, it'll be nice to finally stop gettin my balls busted for never having seen the original trilogy. one last thing: is it worth gettin the ARC-170 Starfighter (8088)? is it that much different from the X-Wing? $65 for less than 400 pieces seems pretty damn steep to me.
  16. pretty much everyone i've ever met has seen them (like other normal people haha), but one of my best friends never has either. he's gonna come by tomorrow and we'll watch the Knicks game and then watch a A New Hope. he wants to start with Episode 1 really badly, but i don;t think we'll go that route. now i have more time to finish my Clone X-Wing tonight! i love this set so far... i wish i had room to actually display ones like this.
  17. psssssh. i'm just showing Star Wars ignorance all over the place tonight.
  18. thanks for the moving, Sith Walrus. sorry again about posting in the wrong place. i'll be more careful in the future. i never really thought of it as them being true prequels as opposed to movies that were originally supposed to come first (the did come first in book form, correct?) so that definitley makes me wanna watch them in chronological release order now. i have the DVDs sittin in the backseat of my car. i'll brave the snow and grab them in a few minutes. after i finish building the set i got tonight (6212 X-Wing Fighter (!!!)) i'll put on A New Hope. i'm excited haha. Edit: thanks Clone O'Patra. i won't start with Episode 3, i promise haha. normally i wouldn't care and just watch thing in the way i wanted to, but everyone is so serious about these movies, and i respect all of your opinions as much as anyone... basically i wanna get the most i can outta these movies.
  19. thanks JimButcher. i'm actually kinda surprised that you guys think i should watch the better ones first, as opposed to 'gettin them outta the way'. i wonder if Episodes 1-3 are really as bad as everyone says. my only real experience with the SW universe is Shadows of the Empire for N64 and a PS2 SW flying game i can't remember the name of.
  20. i looked for a more "appropriate" place to putit, but i couldn't really find anyplace. sorry again if it's against the rules. to me it very much has to do with Lego cause all the sets i've built have gotten me more and more curious. for the first time ever i'm actually excited to watch a Star Wars movie. btw, as an aside; i like the sets from the Clone Wars more than i like the sets from the original trilogy. very much doubt it'll go that way when i'm watching it haha.
  21. i'm not sure if this is the right place for this (sorry if it's not, i'm relatively new here). anyway, i'm sure you'll think i'm nuts, but i've never seen the Star Wars movies. not a single minute of one. i think at this point i know most of what happens but i feel like i'm missing out. i never thought i'd care much, but since i've gotten back into Lego i've become obsessed with the Star Wars sets. i feel like i MUST see them at this point, but i have a few questions: in what order should i watch? should i ignore the new trilogy and just focus on the classics? should i start with Episode 1? is there any supplemental stuff i should watch/read as well? and also, do you think i'll be truly satisfied at this point? i mean, these movies have been hyped beyond all reasonable expectations, i'll go in as open minded as possible, but i wonder if they can live up to a fraction the greatness that's been described.
  22. fantastic job, i love all the details. the oven is especially clever.
  23. WOW!! those are amazing. Jak and Daxter is one of my favorite series. i'm very impressed.
  24. that's incredible. the roof is so unique and i love the lighting. great job.
  25. sweet! thanks. i just got this the other day, i'm gonna try this now.
