  1. Ready to beam up! Mafia history: I have been lucky enough to take part in Eurodina, Werewolf, The Forest, Belleville, The Baritones 3, Prison Riot!, the Curse of Imhotep and Steampunk. Space: The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Excalibur. Her five week mission: to explore strange new roles, to seek out the scum and the lazy players, to boldly claim what no townie has claimed before! 2+2: There... are... four... lights!
  2. I'm quoting from a similar thread There, BD said it best!
  3. Congratulations, I'm so proud of you! This looks like an amazing display, I can't wait to see more pics!
  4. According to Brickset, a Lego Group Piper plane pre-dating all those shown in this thread has been made into an exclusive set (4000012). Could OY-FAV be TLG's first executive aircraft? Built in 1962, here's a photo (from http://www.oy-reg.dk/) in 1963: And another in 2001: However at some time between those dates it was sold to another operator, and even appeared in a museum! (have a look here) This plane certainly seems to have an interesting history. I'd love to hear more from anyone who has any details.
  5. Same here!

  7. Galen didn't sleep well, and the funeral did nothing to improve his mood. It was clear that Emperor Septrine's faith in the heroes was marginal at best. But at least he was sending them on a new mission, and that suggested a hope of reward. Then Vipera appeared to them once again, and his mood changed. He had all but forgotten Vipera in the turmoil of the last few days. But there she was and she was asking for help on behalf of the Dragons. He didn't know whether she had been in contact with Constance in the past or to what extent the Dragons actually collaborated with the Dragon Knights, but he felt that this is one mission Constance would have accepted in order to protect all of Dastan. Galen was no good at figuring out the traitors from the well-meaning people in the complex tapestry of Dastanian politics, but the Chimera was a beast of pure evil and their objective was clear-cut. He would go. "Goodbye everyone, good luck on your respective quests. I hope we will meet again soon. Sarick, if you still agree I will take the Dragon Heart now, and perhaps put an end to the spell of bad luck I've had since setting foot in Dastan. De'kra, I will not forget your selflessness. Thank you. Thothwick, William -- Harkenshire, I'm pleased to travel with you. I hope we can put behind the unpleasant events of yesterday and actually make a difference in this conflicted empire. Cronk, thank you for your thoughtful gift. I still hope to be able to make it up to you before the end of this quest."
  8. Galen smiled at Nyx in awe. "Half barbarian! That's so... unexpected! Not that it's a bad choice, far from it -- physical strength and magical powers in equilibrium, what a wonderful mix! I did notice you looked brawnier than I remembered! I'll call you for sure next time my pickle jars misbehave. But questing together would be even better, of course! It's good to be travelling with a full party again, for the last year I kept wandering here and there looking for clues of my sister's whereabouts but I couldn't keep going without more gold. So I came back to Heroica and joined the first quest I could qualify for. As you must have heard it hasn't gone so well and I almost died three times, but Cronk and the rest of the party were there to patch me up. I think I have been lucky to quest with good companions, trustworthy and honest. Even the little rogue, he's certainly a strange guy but he's not acting like any rogue I've ever met. He's got principles and he's a good soul, he could have made knight or cleric. But we all made choices for a reason, right? I don't know about the sword, its power is so... daunting. And I was thinking about leaving Dastan, to resume my own quest. I have gathered a bit of gold, it wouldn't last me long but I'm not a big spender! I have this bad feeling Nyx, there's something terribly wrong with Dastan and I can't wait to be on my way again."
  9. This looks like such a beautiful setting TinyPies! We want this right naaaow!
  10. With the pain and adrenaline subsiding, Galen was feeling more chatty. "Nyx, I wish we could have met in happier circumstances, but it's still so good to see you again! We might as well catch up on the gossip, tomorrow our ways could part again. I can't believe that our paths never crossed since our return from Draida Bay, it's been almost a year! Adventuring seemed so simple back then! A potion, a bedroll and we were on our way to become heroes. Do you have any news of Rufindel? I heard he's a powerful cleric now, but haven't seen him in the Hall lately. And what about D'Eficcio, Shadina, Purple? It's as if they had disappeared from the face of Olegaia, I never heard from them after our first mission. It's so strange, I hope nothing bad happened to them."
  11. Galen was taken aback by De'kra's offer. How could a rogue, or anyone for that matter, hold a weapon of such power and not want it for themselves? The witch certainly did, though allowing him to wield Constance's weapon would be blasphemous. But would Galen, who only had a throwing dagger to his name, carry the curse of Constance? For it was a curse -- to him. There was no longer a sponsor nor a reward for his party in Dastan. He had planned to heal his wounds then walk away, resume the search for the sister he had lost. Sarick and the rest of the party wouldn't miss him, seeing that he barely scratched an enemy during the whole quest, and got nearly killed three times. However, he could not walk away from Dastan with Constance's sword. The Dragon's Heart had to protect Dastan and avenge Constance's futile death. If it meant going after the remaining Assassins with the same heroes who threw a bomb at him mere moments ago, would Galen be up for it? Would he find it in is heart to forgive them and team up with them again? And more importantly, would he postpone again his own quest to help these foreigners embroiled in their petty wars? "Keep the sword tonight, De'kra. If I'm still here in the morning, you are free to offer it to me again, if you so wish. If I'm gone, then I wish you luck. And success."
  12. Decidedly, the universe didn't want him to sleep. "I'm all right De'kra, I'm not dying yet." And to prove it, Galen stood up painfully. "Let's see how Nerwen's doing." "Friend? Let's see how long he remains in prison before judging if he's a friend or not. I still don't trust him."
  13. Galen had been lying eyes closed, fighting the strange urge to stab himself with his sword. But the witch's curse was now washing way, and the pain of too many burns becoming the foremost sensation in his body. Someone was trying to force a bottle in his mouth, and Galen pushed the hand away. He opened his eyes and managed to croak a few words. "Go away, away!" Smoke was still drifting across the dark sky. He closed his eyes again. He wished he could sleep for days on end. There was no more quest, Emperor Rolando had fooled them. As for the assassins, they were someone else's problem. He wasn't going to associate himself with the heroes who almost took his life and pretend that nothing had happened. But that was a worry for another day. He drifted into a state of dreamy consciousness. Startled, Galen's eyes popped open again. "Brianna?" Nyx was standing over him, obviously as shaken as him if less bruised. Galen let out a long sigh. How could they erase what had just happened and meet again in Heroica Hall without feeling ashamed? "I'm sorry too, we... we should have known better."
  14. Galen throws dagger at Atramor from the back row.
  15. Galen sighed. "I don't like Felton's moustache, and I'd rather not fight my friends to get rid of that ugly sight. But by sitting out, I would leave my party leader and his team outnumbered and outgunned. I will side with Team Constance. But nothing good will come of this."
  16. No no, it's obviously Rufus, who used to be known as CookwareGreenhill when he joined EB!
  17. Easy! I have one, I have one!
  18. Galen was startled by the familiar voice. "Nyx!" He couldn't find words to express both his surprise and joy at this unexpected meeting. He hadn't noticed her at first in the darkness, but there could be no mistake. They had travelled together on their first quest for Heroica, a long time ago -- or so it seemed anyway. He wondered if she still loved shopping. She had changed, her eyes were still youthful but her features more... seasoned? Mature? Galen decided that this train of thought could only bring him trouble -- he could tell that she was a powerful mage, perhaps even capable of reading his mind. He forced his thoughts back to the dilemma at hand. "Just imagine the consequences if Felton is wrong. To everyone, it will appear that a party of Heroes sent by Emperor Rolando has attacked and killed the head of the Dragon Knights. It will be war between Septrine and Rolando. We don't even have a proof that Felton really met with Septrine. The Emperor might not even be aware that Constance is in danger." "I have not partaken in any of those events. I ask those who have: is there anything that proves Felton couldn't be the insider responsible for the leaks?"
  19. Galen was growing increasingly frustrated with the way people had been railroading his party ever since they set foot in Dastan. He was this far from throwing it all away and jump on the first caravan leaving Drakencourt in the morning, especially since the prospect of a reward at the end of their quest had grown dimmer every day. But he was curious to hear what the other Heroes would decide to do. "Listen up folks, I don't see a point in fighting without knowing who we are really fighting for. Is it just me or is everybody we're running into trying to confuse the hell out of us? I don't know who the Lion Knights are allied to anymore, and whether the Emperors are acting together or not. Are we just pawns in a Cultist plan to turn the Emperors against each other and sow havoc? This Felton guy, he could be telling the truth, or he could be a traitor himself. How could we know for sure? Back in the caverns, we heard how Cultists were able to plant new souls in the body of dead people, basically creating perfect infiltrators. Russel, Nikolai, Felton, Constance, any or all could be Cultist spies trying to tear the Empire apart. It seems like by taking part in these fights and pointless missions, we're doing more wrong than good. Isn't there another way to figure out who's lying and who's not? Think people, because it's obvious that everyone wants us to rush into battle with our eyes closed."

  21. Galen was starting to feel confused. Was the Emperor playing games with them? What was the point of sending them to fetch weapons only to try and stop them afterwards? No, Emperor Rolando couldn't be part of whatever conspiracy Russel and his allies were setting up. On the other hand, this Nikolai wasn't beyond suspicion himself -- could he also be a traitor? He would have to be watched carefully, lest he led them in some trap just like Russel did. "Nikolai, what happened to the party of Heroes who were defending the fort?"
  22. Galen thanked Cronk for healing him and Sarick for the larger share of soldiers' gold. Nerwen then pulled out a nostrum vial from her bag and offered it to Galen. "Cheating Lady Luck? Oh, I guess she asked for it! Thank you Nerwen, I hope to be able to make it up to you one day." Galen offers a Remedy to Nerwen. "Please drink this, we should get you rid of this poison as soon as possible."
  23. Congratulations Pandora! You are a natural choice for the job! I'm looking forward to more of your excellent Friends coverage!
