  1. Wait, 2010 isn't over yet! Thanks for the official confirmation! This pretty much settles the issue. The error of the scale is 0.1 mg (0.0001 g). I could add other minifigs to the study, and I'm sure that some variation would be found (meaning a variation more important than the error of the instrument). But the point of the whole thing is that there are no weight differences significant enough between those two specific minifigs that could explain a different perception of their quality.
  2. Interesting! I wonder if this promotion will ever make it across the Atlantic. I wouldn't mind brand new bluecoats if they are comparable in quality with the collectible minifigs. Same can be said for the other minifigs offered.
  3. I see your point. Tough to decide. I wonder how much time is left before we need to reach a decision. I would also like to hear from any others about the pertinence of voting out Mr Bricks.
  4. Interesting angle. Actually, it may be wise to vote out Mr Bricks, because if he's really a townie, being indisposed he won't help us much tonight, and he will be an easy prey for the scum. Better take him down now that regret later. On the other hand, there is a slight chance that he has already been converted by the scum, in which case the choice is obvious.
  5. It would have been a dangerous strategy for a scum: being so openly bold, he was certain of being investigated the next night. That's a strategy that could have benefited him more as a townie than a scum, because as a townie he could have proven his innocence -- at least to some -- while as a scum he had to make sure that the investigator(s) would be silenced quickly. Quite a risk to take, an unneccessary one I would say. Unless the plan was to attract -- and identify -- investigators in order to convert them, but how could he convert them the same night that he was investigated?
  6. I don't buy the arguments of those trying to frame Stash. Of course that he would be investigated after his brash behaviour on day 1, so much is obvious. It would be cheeky, not to mention risky, for a scum to attract unwanted attention like that from the start. And we have no reason to suspect that last night's investigation showed that he was scum. The investigator was likely converted anyway and may not be trusted even if he were to speak up. The suitcased scum may or may not have been one of the policeman, but why would a scummy police officer need a warrant to be in Stash's house, if the intention was to convert Stash or the investigator? I'm sure that the scum have other ways. Don't get me wrong, I think it is crucial to vote someone off today, but I think we're aiming in the wrong direction. Unless any of you have more convincing arguments?
  7. My entries: Sporulator This villain is some sort of unstoppable mutant fungus -- he grows and ramifies until he covers an entire planet and drains all sources of food. Fugazix His designer sunglasses spread the darkness of night and obscure even the midday sun. Walrux Bucketor The most dangerous of all the known villains: his bucket is a weapon of terrible destruction and he smells of clams. This was fun!
  8. I see your point, but still I find this curious. Only a day into this mess, it's very difficult to tell ally from foe, and almost no way to be sure of anyone's allegiance (except if one is scum of course). On one hand, it's possible that Mr Hiker has information that we don't have access to. On the other hand, maybe he trusts people that he shouldn't. Either way, it would be nice to hear from him.
  9. Sounds good to me, I'll join the party!
  10. I find it interesting that you have allies Mr Hiker... I hope you have chosen them well! Do you already have enough evidence to trust a group of people or are you just one of the scum?
  11. This is a really nice set with a great variety of parts! Moreso than the average modular, because here we have three building in different colours! Nothwistanding the fact that it's a HP set and such has the great minifigs and accessories that are the norm for HP, it's also a great parts pack for MOCers. And the price is not unexpected considering it's a licensed set and similar in size/number of parts to the Grand Emporium. Anyway, one more great 2011 set in the fight for my Lego budget!
  12. I've already voted, can't help any more... unless... I could try to vote again from my home computer later on!
  13. Well what I meant is that we don't know that the scum even tried to attack the Chief, maybe he was waiting for someone else and the Chief happened to walk by? Or that the guy in black was actually a townie? I agree it's far fetched, more likely that the Chief had some form of protection and the scum couldn't attack him. However, I don't believe that it was protection from someone else, or we would have seen (heard of) that other person too. So are those 'I Love My Town' pins still available somewhere? I need to get out of the house and go to Town meetings more often! And Mr Stash if I may ask, has anything been stolen from you by your night-time visitor?
  14. Looks like the scum were active tonight... No deaths, but there's no reason to rejoice either! Perhaps two of our honest citizens, and ones with the freedom to investigate, may have joined the dark side. And while I'm glad that Chief Nader has avoided confrontation, there's something troubling there too. Could it be only that the scum hasn't attacked him because he identified one of their own? I'm not pointing fingers, just playing with the slim evidence we have.
  15. At last an Action Figure contest I can take part in! This sounds like fun!
  16. You're welcome! I should have added that for prices your best source is Bricklink. For example 1038, 9700... And welcome to Eurobricks!
  17. That too. Although at first I just thought he had big nostrils.
  18. Seems interesting... I believe this should go in the Technic forum where the experts can help. 9700 1038 1039 1093
  19. I might be tempted one day, there's something about that red hard hat of yours.
  20. Well I'm married too you know, but after 10 years Hans is not giving me as much attention as he used to, if you get my drift.
  21. It's a sure thing that Winter Toy Shop is being rereleased, it's already available in the UK both from S@H and high street shops (not even an exclusive anymore!). It's probably just a matter of time before it hits US shelves.
  22. Interestingly there is a Ninjago set present in the Italian catalogue (2519 Skeleton bowling) but missing in this Dutch one.
  23. My votes go to: 3) Spaceman & Pharaoh Entry (Optimus) 8) Robot & Jungle Explorer Entry (lisqr) 20) Cheerleader & Surfer Entry (mookage) Excellent work by all!
  24. My votes go to: 9) Skier Entry (Rufus) 29) Witch Entry (Almirante Don Rodrigo) 32) Vampire Entry (Cecilie) Well done everybody!
  25. Measuring the weight was actually a way to estimate the density. Because density = weight / volume, and it's difficult to measure the volume precisely, I compared pieces that I assumed would have the same volume (tiles vs tiles, legs vs legs...) Of course if the moulds are significantly different, this measurement becomes irrelevant. What I first thought was that collectible minifigs were made of lower density plastic. But since they weigh roughly the same as classic minifigs, this doesn't seem to be the case.
