  1. Purchased the basic remote from shop.lego.com in the last 10 days, along with some receivers, the remote doesn't cause any receiver to blink when pointed and buttons pushed. Replacement should be here in "3-8 days".
  2. Westfield Southcenter opening in July per Southcenter's facebook. There are other locations, notably in part of California, parts of Texas, Vancouver (B.C. Canada), New York City, and some other clusters in the Northeast U.S. that are similarly close, and frankly for this area, that makes it 20 minutes closer for me, in the case of last Saturday's LUG meeting it is significantly closer, (5-7 minutes down the road). Most of us who are closer to this location would even prefer one further south, but this puts in the the "happening" mall (i.e. major parking improvements etc in the last 5 years). That said, the place is huge and unfamiliar to me, so now I will have another mall on the list of places to figure out close parking, and restrooms to a LEGO Store.
  3. Announced in the last couple days by the mall in question on facebook, and signage in the mall.... Tukwila, Washington (USA), to bring one to the South end of the Seattle area. "Summer 2015"
  4. Cheese slopes, the red ones in my 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar were pretty much garbage out of the box, had them all replaced as even those that didn't fall in two almost immediately looked like they were starting to crack, the replacements didn't, I've seen other ones crack though offhand I only see 1/2 of a white one the vacuum cleaner ate. A local used store where some of the bulk used gets sorted put a pile of sand green in the dig bin, but it had been sorted, the only parts that went in were cracked 1x bricks, and a lot of them, but again, possibly all came out of one batch, having seen soda made/packaged, same flavor running on 4 production lines, 2 sizes of bottles, 2-3 different case sizes for cans at the same time, obviously if doing plastic (also a liquid in the process), you may be running more than one size of mold with the same batch of goo. I've had other pieces crack, probably some plates, but then some of them were probably abused some as well.
  5. Friends: Stephanie's Camper Van Saw someone checking out the contest entries at the LEGO Store last Saturday, got home, built the set, figured out the parts that we needed, and made the run this Sunday, then had to find some of the parts that were here in the pile.... versions 1-3 of the front and back looked much much worse, this actually worked nicely. Thank you rick, I just found the codes I was looking for.
