I had my own collection (including a Cafe Corner, Taj Mahal, etc.) in storage in an unvented trailer sitting out in the Arizona desert in 115+ temps (and you know it was hotter than that inside the trailer) for 4 months. It just about killed me to know that it was there and I couldn't save it from the heat. I was so sure that when I was finally able to get things out of storage that everything would be ruined (or at least some pieces). Amazingly everything was perfect - I couldn't find a single piece with any discoloration or warping.

Wow - the dark bley birds sure got pricy on bricklink! Just a few weeks ago I found them for .45 ea....I should have bought more!
-
Gone already. They said someone called (they took the call) and ordered the last 150. Bummer!
-
Fire Brigade or Medieval Market Village? Which do you think will be gone first? Which will rise more in value? Opinions please....
-
Which set #? I'm showing many sites still have the recent one in stock.
-
Once completely sold out - $120-$140 for the next couple months. Then prices should hit $150 within 3-6 mo. Who knows after that.
-
GONE! (the site says there are 4 left but you can't put them in your cart)

Don't tempt me....I'm still regretting not buying 5 or more Cafe Corners when I had the chance. Update: I panicked too.....just couldn't help but get one more. The part out value alone right now is $240 - and the prices will only go up. 3 left...going...going....
-
21 left on Amazon..... Sure wish I had an extra $1,889.79 sitting around to buy them all up right now....unfortunately I still want to get another Maersk, Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, and Pet Shop....and I just can't seem to find room in the budget....

Latest updates on LEGO set sales
iluvmyelement replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The Maersk Train is $20 off at Amazon.com right now ($99 instead of $119) - hurry - this won't last. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Creator-Maersk-Train-10219/dp/B004QWZ5M6 -
Love it! Can you tell me where you got the LED light/wiring?

POTC on clearance at Target YMMV

My local store had them 33% off. I was a little shocked that they had red clearance tags on such new sets. -
Latest updates on LEGO set sales
iluvmyelement replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Where did you see that? My local ad doesn't have any Lego in it. -
Green Grocer is now sold out at S@H. Very few stores have them left. If anyone here was on the fence - hurry and buy one if you can find it.
-
My Target had about 200 of them. Since there weren't minifigs in the SW sets I didn't get any. But if nobody else offers to help just let me know and I'll go back.
-
I already opened and used them - sorry!
-
I didn't see them in stores.....I just started calling all over the country and talked to managers and begged them that if they ever got any in (or returns) to call me. Most wouldn't take my info. But several did. A week later, the Atlanta store called and said they had two - so I had them shipped to me.
-
If you're in the US - there are a couple of Lego stores that have them (or had them as of 10 days ago). I think they got a "returned goods" type shipment from the warehouse after Christmas - and I found two sets that way.

How did you get your wife hooked on the Lego hobby?
iluvmyelement replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think a big part of me getting hooked was that my parents bought me tons of lego when I was young. I stopped playing with it by 2nd grade and forgot about it until this year. Then I saw the Lego commercial on TV (the "create something together one") and it brought me back to my childhood and I had to play with them again. I started with Cafe Corner. My next was Green Grocer. Family members bought me Fire Brigade, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal and some of the Creator houses for Christmas. Now I'm obsessed. If your wife has no interest in 3D puzzles or never played with Legos as a child, it might be tough. But if they like puzzles - try that angle and get a complex set and ask them to help you. -
A decade in LEGO City-Town. Which set was the best?
iluvmyelement replied to Zorbas's topic in LEGO Town
After everyone here was talking about Cafe Corner and Town Plan - I was feeling sorry for myself that I didn't buy Town Plan when it was still available. Now prices have skyrocketed. But I was very fortunate to find a store today that had 20+ left and they were on clearance to boot! (I also picked up an Eiffel Tower which I had been wanting). The hardest part for me was whether or not to buy more to sell. I only bought one of each. I usually hate the Ebayers who just grab up everything and turn around and ask double - but in this economy it's hard not to want to join them.
