the pin stripes are not paint they are stickers. they come right off and on so your red pieces can be used again for another moc. also i have found that some lable makers make really nice decals.

it has been on the shelf at my toys r us for the past two weeks.

no i dont think so. the train in the movie was not lego. i saw the movie and the train did not look lego to me.

i got this set on sale for $60 at tru. i was planing to use it for parts but i always build first. that was a big mistake because my little girl saw it and now it is hers. she now has her first lego train.

i like the emerald night ,santa fe ,then bnsf.

i have two of those . looking at your review made me want to build them again

i am building another 5571 . i have 3 and one i built in white. so this will be number 5. i have decided that i am going to not put the sleeper on this one and try a dump truck. i bought the 8264 hauler and was going to use the Linear Actuator and motor. does anyone know of any links where i can see pictures of how to power the drivetrain. also will a xl power functions moter move something that heavy or do i need 2. i would also like to steer the truck with power functions. oh yeah and i want it all to be done by remote control. any ideas or links. thank you.

the 8376 goes as fast as you pull the trigger . just like a regular rc car. i would think it would be more powerful than a power function car to.

WOW!!!! i cant stop looking at that truck. i would love to see how it all works inside. that is one of the best trucks i have ever seen.

8376 is the way to go. try to find one. everything you need is in one box.

i built two extra coaches at almost $60 per coach. that was using bricklink.

i bought two emerald nights and in book 1 page 6 step 5 they are not the same . the one book does not have the 1x1 brick and gold plate . the other does. it has to be a error because those pieces are used later on page 48.

i also used that fix . works great. thank you.
