  1. No. Bad idea. Seriously, I know how important and good our Mods are, so I appreciate them enough without having to get rid of them for a day.
  2. Congrats to the winners! On another note, if this was a contest, I would definitely have voted for Siegfried. The look on his face is just priceless
  3. Does anyone want to play a game online for PC? If you do, just PM me!
  4. ... 1946? The war ended in 1945? This is a 'what if' scenario soldier?
  5. I do that already with my iPod, so in theory it should work. But, I'd rather get a cheaper laptop or something of the sort, because iPads are very, very expensive, and you don't get much for what you pay for.
  6. I wouldn't say that Infiri are animals, seeing as they were once humans. As for Nagini, I think that she'd be cool, but not as likely as you say she may be. I'd want her to where we could bend her, too.
  7. Unfortunately, this project was too massive an undertaking for me, resulting in it being scrapped. For the time being, at least. I may return to it in a few years. I'll be doing something a mite smaller now.
  8. So, have you made any progress? I'm dying to see new pictures!
  9. I mostly like this figure. The only thing that I dislike is that green neck. Not easily avoided, I know, but still, he looks like an alien.
  10. Nice looking ship. It has that classic almost Star Trek look to it, that I find massively appealing. Too bad you need the parts for something else, but it's had a good run.
  11. Thanks for that bit of Info, Fugazi! I did not know that they released this set in a new box. Odd, isn't it? I'll add the info to the review. Thanks a bunch!
  12. Yes, I do enjoy the speeder bike, but it is a bit annoying at times. It's fairly easy to break in the middle, where the two front bars are attached.
  13. Man, my curiosity is really aroused now about Jingles... I really cannot wait to see where his loyalties lie. This has been a great game, Sandy!
  14. Sorry. I lost them a while ago, but I did include a direct link to the instructions on TLG's website, if that's any consolation.
  15. Thanks, Oky. Yes, this set was sure a pain in the megablocks to photograph, but it was worth it in the end, I think.
  16. Nice haul, Tervlon! And welcome to Eurobricks! Why don't you go and introduce yourself here, and tell us what your interests are, as well as your favorite themes, etc.
  17. Thanks for the info, 'lighteningtiger'! I shall add that piece of damning evidence to the review at once.
  18. Thank you so much! I'll be sure to post pictures of the Recolored version of the Hellcat.
  19. Vroom! The army men are going on a patrol in the jeep! All clear! Oh, wait! FOOT!!! The jeep swerves left, missing the foot by inches. The toys go stiff, as Andy's mom looks down. "How many times have I told him to pick up his toys..." Set#: 7595 Name: Army Men On Patrol Theme: Toy Story Year: 2010 Pieces: 90 Minifigs: 4 Price: 10.99 USD, 13.90 EUR, 9.99 GBP, 14.99 CAD Bricklink Lego Brickset Peeron Flickr Set The Box First we have a nice, clean box, which seems to be the standard of TLC nowadays. The background is the floor, which is surprisingly effective. As for buyability, this set will definitely fly off shelves. Good job, TLC. Also, pointed out by Fugazi, the set has been released with the new style Toy Story Three boxes as well... Odd, isn't it? Back, showing the basic features of the set, oh, wait! That's something new. No play features, just the minifigures and a scene with the set! Weird. No other sets of the wave either... Whoa, TLC, no free marketing space? Hmm.... Also, it has that horrible button-push packaging, which I absolutely cannot stand. Damaged boxes are useless boxes... Instructions GAH, folded instructions yet again! This really is a pain right around the middle of the build. Poor quality control, TLC. Other than that, good instructions. Very clear. Minifigures Full cast. Left to right,(named by me) Assault Trooper 1, Minesweeper trooper, Medic, Assault Trooper 2. Beautiful minifigures, which I will go more in depth in the next pictures. One thing I will say now is that the helmets don't look very good on any other minifigure. Stick with the customs. Assault troopers 1 and 2, respectively. The accessories look Great in this green color. The stands are interesting, and the helmets are okay. The prints are good for this figure, but not as good as you'd think for Army customs. That Green Neck just stands out far too much. It'd look like your army was full of aliens or something. Medic. The cross symbol looks great on the helmet. The briefcase with invisible medical supplies is a little loose, but bearable. Same torso as the rest of the troops. I would have preferred a different print. Minesweeper Trooper. The metal detector seems rubbery, doesn't it? It kind of is, as well. Also, what does a trooper that's looking for mines need a set of binoculars for? No back prints on these minifigs, but there is this lovely green backpack on the medic. I can imagine using it on a military MOC. Army Jeep Profile. At first glance, it's very, um, cute. I guess that's what the designers were going for, but it's still a little odd translated into Lego. It's also very green, but, again, that is what the designers were going for. It's kind of small. Then again, it has some very usable parts. Back. From this angle, it looks sort of... Plain. There's not much you can do about that, but it's still kind of annoying. I suppose you could MOD it with a more flattering back. Another profile. Officially, there is only supposed to be one trooper seated in the jeep. But, if you don't mind a little awkwardness, two can be seated. It looks a little odd, but it can be done. Inside of the jeep. It certainly looks cramped! The trooper just barely fits inside, as long as he is wearing no gear. Another fits in the back. Accessories Here are some very nice accessories. All in that purty green color. Metal detector, binoculars, radios, guns, and a stretcher. Good accessories to have lying around, but they lose some of their value as useful pieces becaus of the green. Close up on the stretcher. Nice looking, eh? I could use this in white, though. Set In Full Hmm. Certainly looks fuller when it's all layed out, doesn't it? It looks great in green! The only thing that would make this better if it was released in different colors, like in brown or tan, to symbolize different factions. The Final Verdict Design: 8/10. The jeep is Very cute. It's still a little odd, but nice. It's kinda small. Build: 7/10. Quick and easy, exactly as expected from such a small set. Whoa, deja vu... Still enjoyable. Playability: 9/10. It's an army jeep with four army men. What do you expect? The only thing that would make this better would be some enemy army men. Minifigures: 10/10. Absolutely beautiful! The helmets could use some work, but the torsos are nice. They're all so... green... Sorry . Price: 7/10. 10.99. Not gonna price rant, Not gonna price rant, Not gonna price rant, Not gonna price rant... Overall: 8/10. This, overall, is a great set. The minifigures are great, the jeep is cute, and the price is... Nevermind. Great set. Parting Shot FOOOOOOTTTT!!!!!!
  20. It's a calm and crystal clear day on Hoth. No blizzards or Wampas in sight. The Rebel Scout is just about to head back to base, when he sees something... Imperial Walkers, heading towards Echo Base! The scout sprints back to base to warn Rebel command. Upon arrival of the scout, Rebel Command sends Squads of Rebel troopers, armed with Blaster Rifles and powerful Ice Cutters to combat the Imperial Menace. But will they be enough to defeat the Empire? Find out in this review! Set #: 8083 Name: Rebel Trooper Battle Pack Theme: Star Wars Year: 2010 Pieces: 79 Minifigs: 4 Price: 10.99 USD, 14.99 CAD, 9.99 GBP, 14.99 EUR Lego Brickset Peeron Bricklink Flickr Set The Box Front. Standard packaging fare, with some Photoshop effects, age suggestion, set number, etc. It's shiny and compact looking. It really makes the set look attractive on a store shelf. That doesn't really work on me much any more, but I found this set in December, along with the Snowtrooper BP and ARC-170 Fighter. The back depicts the contents of the two battle packs duking it out in a snowy background, presumably Hoth. It has the Push Button Packaging that I hate with a passion. Pieces Good selection of pieces. Of course we have the beautiful white pieces. Very usable colors and parts here. 4x8 plates are always useful, as are the 1x2 grill parts. Interesting Pieces Left to right: I have no idea what to call this piece. It reminds me of a bar stool, though. Then we have a crate, which is always useful. Then the aforementioned 1x2 grill parts, and the 1x2 bricks with grooves. Then those lovely white slopes, cones, round modified tiles, and that castle looking piece. And the gray castle looking piece. Instructions I lost the instructions sometime in March. So here's the downloadable online instructions. Rebel Trooper Battle Pack Instructions Clear instructions. Good use of those castle pieces. Minifigures Okay. Here we have a nice selection of rebel troops. Left to right: Hoth Officer. Nice mustache. Generic Hoth Rebels. Nice, nice. Lastly... Zev Senesca? WTF? He's here... because...? What's he supposed to pilot? The box clearly depicts the Hoth Officer manning the ice cutter. Also, as lighteningtiger pointed out, he died in a snowspeeder in the movie... Oh, well, might as well build up on your pilots as well. Backs. No printing on the Troopers, just backpacks. Zev Senesca does have a nice vest looking print, though. Zev Senesca close up. Nice console on his vest. Very sharp printing. Close up on the back of Zev Senesca. I've already talked about this print, so I'll just let the picture do the talking here. Ice Cutter This is certainly an interesting choice for a Lego set, even if it is in a battle pack. Ice Cutter. It has a nice shape to it, I suppose. It's a little unfamiliar. Never seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Only in a deleted scene. Honestly I would have preferred a Snowspeeder, or maybe a few turrets. I suppose that TLG was trying to introduce new vehicles to the franchise? Whatever. Front of the Ice Cutter. Good shape. From this vantage you can see the modified circular tile that makes the ice cutter have the illusion of floating. Back of the ice cutter. The seat looks extremely unprotected. Can you say Sniper Bait? Seriously, this is worse than Battlefront's Speeders! Set in Full Nice looking set all together. Good minifigures and a generic vehicle. The Final Verdict Design: 7/10. The ice cutter has a very nice shape. But then again, there's the horrid driver's seat. Then the flick fires. I don't know, it has things that I like and things that I hate. Build: 5/10. Boring. Generic build, seen it a thousand times. It looks nice when it's done, but still. The only interesting thing IMO was the crate inside the ice cutter itself, making a nice storage space. Besides that, very generic, boring build. Playability: 8/10. Good playability. It has four minifigures with guns, and a tank looking thing. The pilot is a different color than the rest of the Minifigs, so young children can make the Hoth Troopers gang up on the pilot. Minifigures: 10/10. Gotta give props to the Minifigures. Absolutely beautiful. Plus there are four of them, and they all have weapons and helmets. My favorite would have to be the Hoth Officer, because of his Brown 'stache. Price: 7/10. Meh, the price really could be a bit better. I probably should not complain, with all the contributing factors of inflation and whatnot. You get some great pieces and minifigs, most in a lovely white color, along with that bar stool piece. But I still hate that the prices are on the rise. Overall: 6/10. Fair set. I probably wouldn't buy it right now, seeing as I'm turning to the dark side (city). Star Wars is just getting old. I know it's a great money maker for TLG and Lucas, but it's high time that this theme died. It's had a good run, but I'm tired of high prices and generic builds. This is the last year that I am buying Star Wars sets. I'll be focusing on city mostly now. Parting Shot So, what do you pilot?
  21. It's a clear day on Hoth. A rarity. Everything's calm. Suddenly, a rebel scout spots an Imperial Speeder Bike! The Empire is attacking Echo Base! The Empire comes bursting in, with their deadly speeder bikes and command posts! But will it be enough to clean up that Rebel Scum? Find out in this RA review! Set #: 8084 Name: Snowtrooper Battle Pack Theme: Star Wars Year: 2010 Pieces: 74 Minifigs: 4 Price: 10.99 USD, 14.99 CAD, 9.99 GBP, 14.99 EUR Lego Brickset Peeron Bricklink Flickr Set The Box Front. Shiny box. Very basic, with all the average features of a box. Piece count, age recommendation, name, set number. The picture certainly makes the set look very appetizing. Good blur effects on the speeder bike. And of course we have the trademark random laser blasts. It also has the "Three Clones" type logo on it, which I don't really like seeing as this is an Episode Five set. There is only about 60% of the box used. Tisk tisk, TLC. Back, showing the set in battle with its Rebel Counter part. That seems to be some battle, encouraging youngsters to buy the Rebel BP to act out the battle. It also shows the Minifigs in their little red section. Good, it's a push button opening type box. I love those, because you don't completely destroy the box. And again, the fricken clone wars logo. Annoys the crap out of me. Pieces The set parted out, minus the Minifigs. Sorry for the horrible sorting. It's a good selection. Although for Eleven bucks, I wish that I had gotten about thirty pieces more. They could have included another speeder bike, or maybe expanded the Command Post. Oh, well. I suppose the price could be justified with the printed computer slope and all the white, though. Interesting Pieces Interesting pieces. Here we have tiles in two colors, a vehicle base, lances, a smooth slope, jumper plate, rocket bottom, binoculars, grill plate, spigot, and that fabulous printed tile. I especially love the incorporation of an otherwise castle-only piece (the lance). Good job, designers. The printed tile is excellent as well. Instructions I lost the instructions a while ago when I moved to a bigger house. Sorry. So to make up for it, here is the link to the Lego Website .pdf file. Snowtrooper BP Instructions Good Techniques, but nothing really new. Just a basic everyday instruction book. Minifigures Group shot. Pretty good looking selection, though the AT-AT driver looks very out of place. The Snowtroopers' printing looks very nice, as does the AT-AT driver's and the Imperial Officer's. One thing I noticed was that the hands were slightly looser than usual, but I guess that that just happens every now and then. Group back shot. Good looking back prints for the Driver and the Officer. The detailing on the Snowtroopers' backpacks look nice. Close up on the AT-AT driver. Very nice looking minifigure we have here, with some slick detailing on the torso and helmet. I'm still wondering what the heck he's doing on the ground, though. The helmet printing is slightly off, but I don't really care. Close up on the back printing of the AT-AT driver. Again, very nice back printing. There is that huge gap between the helmet and the neck, revealing much of the black head. As I recall this wasn't a problem in the old helmets, seeing as they covered the whole head. I don't know what the reason was for changing the helmet design. I liked the old helmet better, personally. Close up on the Officer. Yet another good looking minifigure. Great printing and helmet. Pretty generic face, though. The torso would also work well for a bullet-proof vest. Gray legs are also great. Close up on the Back Printing of the Officer. Yet again with the excellent printing. This set is covered in great prints. Slightly dull colors, though. Then again, the Empire isn't really a colorful organization. Command Post Interesting small base. The Officer can scan for enemy units on the computer, and the AT-AT driver can shoot his missile at the enemy units as the officer spots them. There's also a handy dandy gun rack on the side of the computer. All this is settled on a 4x8 white plate, which is a very nice plate to have. All in all this Command Post is very boring, and you'll part it out within five minutes of putting it together. Decent parts, filler base. Speeder Bike Ah, the real gem of this set. It really makes up for the crapbase. I really love the steering technique they used, with the droid arms and the spigots. Not the best position to be in, Rebel or Imperial. The front looks very blade like, and looks like it could easily cut you in half. The Snowtrooper looks just plain evil sitting in it. There's a better position to be in. If you're standing here, it means that you weren't run over, and you're in a good position to take out the driver. Anyway, I really like the use of the Backpack piece. Not too terribly much to say here. Close up on the bulk of the bike. Solid build, and its pretty stable. The skids seem to have a nasty habit of rotating out of place when picked up. Easily fixed, but annoying all the same. The Final Verdict Design: 6/10. The design starts off badly with the crapbase, then picks up with the Speeder bike. I liked the small missile launcher in the base, but it was just a boring build. The speeder marginally makes up for it, though. Build: 5/10. I hated building the small base. It was just so boring, and with no interesting techniques or neat little details at all. The Speeder bike slightly makes up for it with a fun and interesting build. However, it's not interesting enough to save this score. Playability: 9/10. It's a small army builder set made for playability. It could have included another bike, maybe for some races or a larger patrol. Minifigures: 10/10. I absolutely love the minifigures. Sharp printings and smart helmets. Lovely back printings. And at 4 Minifigs a pop, the value is great, too. Price: 7/10. Meh, the price really could be better. I probably shouldn't complain, with all the contributing factors of inflation and whatnot. You get some great pieces and minifigs, most in a lovely white color. But I still hate that the prices are on the rise. Overall: 6/10. Recap; crapbase, good speeder bike, good pieces, great minifigures. Meh price. It's only supposed to be an Army builder set anyways. Four greatly printed minifigures make up for any crappy designs. My tastes are changing though. My rating might have been higher 4 months ago, but for now this is just slightly above average. Not really a must have, but nice if you're trying to make a Hoth scene. Parting Shot Why did we take it apart? WHY???
  22. Hm. This is certainly an interesting development. I was hoping for the return of Ninja sets in 2011, so I guess that I half got my wish. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  23. I'm listening to one of my Personalized stations of Pandora Radio ... Sorry. The song is currently Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.
  24. Nice instructions, I think that I'll build the Corsair with a different color scheme. Are you going to make/post instructions for the Hellcat? That's the one that I really want to make in an alternate color.
