Just as we haven't seen any of the LOTR sets yet for 2012 there could also be a few Kingdoms sets coming around the same time that we haven't seen pictures of either. I can only hope.

Considering Harry Potter sets were marketed alongside a continuing Castle line of sets gives some weight to the idea that Kingdoms may continue alongside the LOTR sets. When the supposed rep mentioned "Castle" in his answer I think he was referring to Kingdoms and any other Castle themed line that may follow Kingdoms. If Kingdoms continues for at least one more wave of sets for 2012 that will make me a very happy camper!

I am a huge fan of LOTR but I probably won't end up getting any of these sets mainly because I'm really not a fan of licensed themes and I don't see that Lego sets will do justice to locations and settings in the movies since most of them are huge in scope. I would prefer the Kingdoms line continue for at least for one last wave of sets for 2012. Maybe there will be a final wave of sets for Kingdoms released alongside LOTR but I doubt TLG has the resources to do this. It looks like the last set for Kingdoms may be the 10223 Kingdoms Joust and if that's the case then I will be somewhat disappointed to see Kingdoms end after only 2 waves of sets and 1 exclusive set. I will reserve my final judgement until I see photos but I'm not very optimistic.

Starting a fresh thread for this would have made the most sense to me but listing the page where the topic of discussion changes should be a good enough patch job for anal people like me who like everything separated and organized. Thank you kindly Sir.

This thread is confusing since anyone who comes here has to wade through the discussion on the rumored LOTR theme first before getting to the discussion on the confirmed theme.

I sure hope we get at least one more year of the Kingdoms line or at least have a handful of of castle themed sets released every year still.

I bought one of those sets on ebay earlier this year since I am collecting every Kingdoms set that comes out. I haven't seen this one in stores yet myself but if I do I think I will pick up a couple more of them. It's a nice little set.

If an LOTR theme is on it's way I hope they decide to overlap things a bit by releasing the final Kingdoms sets early next year and then the LOTR sets later in the summer. It's possible they would continue to run Kingdoms alongside LOTR to a smaller extent but the themes are probably to similar that I highly doubt they would.

If LOTR theme ends up being true then it would make some sense that it would come out next year since the first Hobbit movie will be released late next year and it is a prequel to LOTR so it would help with marketing in that regard. I am still hoping we get at least 2 or 3 more Kingdoms sets to finish of the line next year. I guess we will probably know for sure early next year.

I want to get 2 of these as well. The design and the way they can be combined definitely lends itself to getting doubles of this set.

Ok, after looking at the photos for a couple minutes I understand what your saying. So then with 2 sets that would also double up on the minifigs right?

I'm really not sure why people are talking about 2 sets for. It is clearly one set but in the first photo there appears to be 2 extra infantry soldiers in an attempt to make things look better which may be a bit deceiving to some. One person mentions 2 sets and so the false rumor starts.

Yes, in my opinion this definitely suggests the returning Black Falcons faction emerging in Kingdoms for next year that may or may not replace the Dragon Knights completely. This reminds me of when Lego would slowly introduce a new faction while phasing the previous ones out in the 80s and 90s. I really hope we see more sets with the Black Falcons and who knows maybe we will even see a remake of the much beloved Black Falcons Fortress in future sets.

The return of the Black Falcons! This set looks so AWESOME! It has a really nice variety of unique minifigures and looks like a very nice elegant design. I can't wait to order this set!!!

I personally think there is at least one more wave of good sets left in Kingdoms. Even after MMV came out there was still a final wave of the Fantasy Castle sets that got released. I'm thinking there will probably be 3 or 4 more Kingdoms sets next summer along with the exclusive jousting set. I'm a huge LOTR fan but I don't think that it would make that great of a Lego theme.

I was thinking about the rumored Jousting set a bit more and I speculate that it may easily have a medieval fair theme along with the jousting in order to increase the size of the set to make it similar to the size of other exclusive sets.

Sounds like it could be a cool set! Maybe it will be similar to Knights Challenge http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6060-1 but maybe a bit bigger. I think it could definitely be a replacement for the MMV set.

I've never seen these prototype pictures until now. Some very nice sets there!

I paid $12.99cdn for Blacksmith Attack, $24.99cdn for Escape from Dragons Prison, $49.99cdn for King's Carriage Ambush and $89.99cdn for Mill Village Raid. These are all Canadian prices but considering that our dollar has been on par with the US dollar give or take a couple cents for over the last year I would say that the prices I paid are definitely a rip off. I decided to grin and bear it though because I did not want to wait for a sale. I can see these the larger Kingdoms sets like King's Carriage Ambush and Mill Village Raid selling very slowly here until there is a sale or until Christmas rolls around since they prices are hugely inflated by Lego for the Canadian market.

Just picked up all 4 new Kingdoms sets today on the way home from work. I have put together all of them except fro the Mill Village Raid set. So far the other 3 smaller sets are very nicely designed and carefully thought out. There are also plenty of unique pieces that I have never seen before. I can't wait to put together the MVR set! Nice job on these Lego!

I checked ToysRus here where I live and they have all 4 of the new Kingdoms sets!
