size comparison with normal minifigs?
-
I live near a Toys R Us and have not seen any Space Police sets. Looks like the line's S@H only (WHY DO THIS LEGO?)
-
I added an option to bring back alternate models on the main sets. They used to provide me with endless inspiration as a kid.

Here's a hovercar built using only pieces from 5867: Super Speedster. I've decided to give it to one of my old Classic Space dudes (whom I've decided to call "Redshirt"). Front Side Underside (showing how the "hover generators" are attached) Back (compartment closed) Back (compartment open and engine exposed) Interior (not much to see here) Hope you like it. I may take some "in progress" pics later if anybody else wants to build this.

Review: 4743 Ice Blade
GravyTrain replied to Inconspicuous's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm right there with ya buddy, I LOVED this set and in retrospect wish I'd gotten more Alpha Team when I had the chance. -
I think if handled correctly Lego could really do justice to a Green Lantern theme. Think about it: lots of alien figures for the Green Lantern Corps, a few alien enemies in the vein of Space Police and, most of all - ring constructs. Lego could basically create ANYTHING they wanted as a ring construct: jets, creatures, bulldozers, robots, ANYTHING. And for people collecting green parts it would be like a dream come true. And of course if it took off it'd be nice to see some of the other Lantern Corps make appearances.

While building this MOC I wanted to keep to a very crab/crustacean-y design aesthetic. As you can see, he's loaded with sensors and stuff and I imagine robots like this being used to map out the oceans of new worlds. Comments and crits welcome. And the head unit can separate off for getting into tight spots!

I love these tributes so much, these are what we should've gotten instead of the Stars!

Does Space Police III promote racism and xenophobia?
GravyTrain replied to Sonic Screwdriver's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I think a few alien police officers would be pretty cool. Imagine a giant space squid enjoying a cup of coffee with the rest of the force! -
What do you do with the containers?
GravyTrain replied to HumanPackMule's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The older canisters were awesome. For the Toa you could actually store masks on them, which was pretty useful and for the Bohrok you could actually store them inside by way of a special clip AND it had story significance! I miss those days. -
[Binary Fusion Duo] Hielos and Fuegos

Nice shirt/pants concept, now if only someone did SYMMETRICAL DOCKING-U! -
Nice use of the minifig legs in back.

Imagine a universe where everything is inverted, where the Exo-Force, known to us as defenders of humanity, are an oppressive force feared by Meca One and his peaceful robots. When the robots rebelled against their original purpose, war, Shogun Keiken ordered genocide on them. In one last ditch attempt to stem the human invasion, the robots blew Sentai Mountain in two. However, the humans have since built many bridges to the robot community. Will these robots ever find peace? Bio: When his family chose to live in the robots' peaceful society rather than under the tyrannical rule of Keiken, Takeshi became a disgraced member of society. Now, in his Solar Crusher, he will destroy both the robots and his former family, so that he may be dishonoured no more. As part of Shogun Keiken's elite Exo-Force unit, he is one of the top soldiers of the Robot Extermination Initiative. Takeshi's Solar Crusher and its main universe counterpart, the Supernova. Weaponry deployed. Wings down. Side view. One of the main flaws with Exo-Force cockpits was the lack of side protection, so I added some. Back view. Notice how the staff splits apart and stores on the back and inside the wings. Cockpit closed. Two robot corpses to intimidate the peaceful robots, plus deployable hip-mounted cannons and buzzsaws in case anyone manages to get really close. Inside the cockpit. A gun and chainsaw at the back in case Takeshi has to get out in robot territory. How does he control the mech? Same way everybody else in Exo-Force does. Minifig comparison. I wanted to give the evil Takeshi a more paramilitary appearance, so I gave him a black torso and a helmet instead of his anime hair. And finally, one last pic of Solar Crusher and Supernova fighting. I built this when I had a jonesing to make a mecha MOC and came up with the backstory along the way. About 80% of the parts are from the Assault Tiger and Shadow Panther, with a few technic elements and other system parts thrown in. Let me know what you think, as this is my first MOC in a long time.

Oh Lord you just got me thinking about how cool Batman: Brave and the Bold sets would be. So much potential.
-
Wow those giant fore-arm guns really remind of Ironhide from the new Transformers Movie.

Please don't! There's still some competition! You don't even have to set up a prize or anything, man. Even if this is only small, I'd rather see it through to the end instead of having it die unnaturally.

It's way past 10th March. My figurin' is anybody who wanted to enter would've done so by now. Want to extend the deadline or start voting process?

Well, Mr. Admiral, sir, if Jinzo is your hero then he's my god! Thankyou for yet another inspirational post.

I don't know whether I will go or not. I've found cheap flights but some stuff is WAY out of my price range. Perhaps time to call in financial help from Mum and Dad? Either that or I could bypass accomodation altogether and just sleep rough.
-
OK, I've found some cheap flights on easyJet from Stansted to Munich but due to airline restrictions I need an adult to go with (I am 14, BTW and won't be any trouble). Also, I have yet to factor in ticket prices (apparently I'm an adult!), accomodation and transport from Munich to Gunzburg and back, so if anybody has any (cheap) ideas, feel free to post it. Please note I haven't booked the flight. The prices are (currently): Thursday 26th April:

Pit Guard ain't winning without a fight! Kotalu and Korax Entry pic Gallery Kotalu is a reformed member of the Dark Hunters. Prior to attaining Pit duty, he travelled the world. One of his souvenirs, a Krana, is stored in a back compartment and they are both able to communicate telepathically. Kotalu likes to "talk" to it on the dull and lonely shifts which come all to often in the Pit. The mutagen caused him to grow two more arms, both wielding an energy rifle. The Korax are a species of Lobster found prowling the seabed, usually following herds of Hydruka. The only natural predator of the vampiric squid that inhabit the area, it is the most used Rahi in the Pit next to the Spinax.

And for people who want the full story, here's my post from the other thread: The Space Rake Link for slow connectors! Took ages to upload! Gallery when public The Rake Fighter is a part of what many space-farers call the "fleet of the damned". Rake pilots used to be humans but were harvested by the fleet. Their brain energy consumed by the Knowledge Eater and their bodies wired into the fighters, they are little more than drones.

Would you like to see Bionicle expanded into SPACE??
GravyTrain replied to johnsocal's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I feel what this series needs is a complete reboot Marvel Ultimates/Transformers Classics style. You wouldn't have to retcon a load of crap and could utilise some newer ideas. Maybe have the Rahkshi enforcing Makuta's rule over Mata Nui and the Toa Mata actually starting out as Matoran trying to rebel. The Toa "Metru" could've tried a first time but then failed. Instead of killing them, Makuta turned them into Turaga weaker physical forms and sent them back, thinking that their failure would dishearten the Matoran. you could maybe have Mata Nui as a mix between Mata and Metru Nui, still natural but with more technological elements (like having the Turaga hooked up to life support systems etc.) -
I'm on about the aesthetic (like, say, if it had some Bionicle partsand flippers etc.) Also, is it okay if the pilot's just a head wired in or something?
