  1. Hahahaha landshark! My favorite line has to be "I breed fear and contempt". That's what I like about Schwartz. He goofs off and doesn't give a hoot what anyone thinks!
  2. I saw in one of the comments at Drunk Duck, someone thinks that the Intergalactic Command Base will suffer some kind of disaster. But we know from "House Call" and "Lunch Time" that the Intergalactic Command Base survives into Schwartz's term as President of the Space Agency. How long does President Weiss have left in his term? I am honestly not sure how good of a president he is. Why is there only 1 ship devoted to solving the Flying Saucer sightings, and the search for the 918? Lance and Vance seem capable enough, but space is vast and I'd like to think that a potential alien invasion, and an unexplained zombie would get higher priority. I was reading some of the old stories again... "Jenny" from Star Justice... she says that she is Schwartz's future, and Schwartz has said he felt at home in his dream when his mind inhabited her body. Well, I guess if Mikey Galanos can turn into a cat in the future, it's not inconceivable that Schwartz gets turned into a woman The more I read back on the old comics, the more it seems that many of the characters may not have happy futures. I remember Amarillo had premonitions of being damned by the Jefferson Dash zombie...
  3. I really like the Space Police base. I remember the original Space Police base, it it was pretty sparse, with 1 jail cell and a fairly minimal hangar bay. This new base is much better: a real garage with command center up top, cell block, and communications array. This is a real base, not just a dome or some clear pieces... I don't think there's been a space base like this in a long time.
  4. What exactly happened to Officer Freundlich's ship? There couldn't have been much if any damage if Fruendlich accepted a couple boxes of candy as apology for the mishap, haha. Speaking of the Space Police, I am curious if anyone will find the SPIII ship that got wrecked in the Galanos Vortex. And what is Captain Dash doing with the corpses he was digging up on Europa?
  5. The amount of detail on this MOC is amazing... the self-sustainability aspects (power generation, workshops, storage, food, housing) are awesome!
  6. Haha, I can't wait to see what happens to Officer Freundlich!
  7. I like the large building with the agriculture domes on the sides. That's the kind of command center I always wanted to build, but never had quite enough bricks for!
  8. I was looking at your list of Lego sets used in Space: http://www.brickset.com/brickLists/?982, and I could not help but notice that you have a Deep Freeze Defender! That's a big capital ship... how did Priscilla, the Ice Babe, get command of that?!? I would have thought a high achiever like Captain Amarillo would get one of the big ships.
  9. I'm only partly serious about this. I don't think Space Police III will turn children into racists. I just thought the overall tone of the series seemed to paint those who look "different" in a bad light.
  10. Thanks! I have always wondered about the role of the droids in the Space universe -- are they pretty much constrained to following the orders of the humans? Mr. Wobbly Droid continually raises objections to Ronald's behavior, yet he seems unable to stop Ronald from doing anything.
  11. Whether the enemies are "unreal" or not misses the point. The implication of Space Police III is that people who are different from humans are "bad". I also think kids see things in society that adults do not think they see. I also think that having aliens serving in the police force would make more interesting sets.
  12. Link is broken for me! I get a "no content" error from drunk duck.
  13. I have mixed feelings about this. I really liked the Lego Space sets from the 1980's through the mid-90's. While they did have themes (Blacktron, Futuron, MTron, etc), these sets left more to the imagination than a lot of the sets that came after it, like the Star Wars series. Half the fun of the old Lego sets was making up adventures and stories, much like KDog does with the Space comic. While I really like the wider variety of minifigures that the newer fantasy sets bring, I can't help but think that the sets are more limiting simply because they already have decades of backstory already built in.
  14. Yeah, I never had a problem with "Life on Mars" -- that series seemed to promote inter-species cooperation. "Mars Mission" seemed like a pretty violent theme, with both humans and jellies being armed to the teeth and ready to kill and pillage. I suppose this reflects more accurately the International system today, but I feel that a toy series from Denmark of all places should reflect better aspirations.
  15. One thing I noticed about Space Police III is that the Space Police seem to be all human, while the criminals are aliens. Does this not promote racism and xenophobia? I did a google search to see if anyone had similar feelings, and this had been discussed on Lego.com. Lego.com thread There was also a funny blog post on this subject: BuboBlog post And The accompanying pictures are entertaining. I have to say that a District 9 series of lego sets would be fun, but it would undoubtedly be very violence oriented.
  16. Ah, so the "Galanos Vortex" that wrecked the Space Police III craft from the future, has something to do with time travel. When the Space Police guy said "I might be displaced by several years", I thought it might have been a typo, or he meant to say "displaced by several light-years". I get the sinking feeling that Ronald Galanos is going to cause a lot more damage before the 8th Doctor can bring things under control.
  17. Mwahahaha! Is there a difference between the old and new Space Police characters? Specifically, are these the same organization? I also seem to remember one character having premonitions about Star Justice, a future law enforcement agency.
  18. Excellent! I look forward to seeing how Spyrius figures into your stories!
  19. Do you have any Spyrius sets that will make an appearance? I remember in the Lego universe Spyrius were considered the bad guy successors to Blacktron, but I always used them as black ops intelligence agency. If Unitron and Ralph Gunbar were the Military contractor guys who drank heavily, kicked down doors, and made a mess of things, Spyrius was the group that would plant a few bugs, disappear, and be listening in from a flying saucer far far away. I liked the Spyrius theme very much... there is a restored Saucer Centurion sitting on my shelf.
  20. I've wondered the same thing. Somehow I don't think Schwartz would wear the Futuron-style space suit, even if Fleet Admiral McGann made it a requirement.
  21. The 918 storyline was what really got me reading Lego:Space I like the mystery, and the creepiness of the whole thing. I also find it funny that the Space Agency can't seem to get a handle on what is going on, and that the President seems more concerned with recovering the 918 for his own personal use.
  22. Nooooooo!!! I don't want Galanos to turn into a cat!!! Galanos-cat is cute though, LOL
  23. In what century or approximately what year does this comic take place? The main timeline, that is.
  24. Yikes... The Doctor should have scoured that garage for other potentially dangerous devices before taking off with the first Guardian, although I'm sure the TARDIS will start sounding an alert if time changes are set in motion.
  25. "You know, Galanos, I should run for President..." ROFL The Free Pizza platform lives!!!
