  1. Grand Emporium back is up on the S@H website for us Aussies. phew. expected release 26 march. Question: has 10197 Fire Brigade always been on the 'hard to find' list? i thought it used to be an 'exclusive', i'm wondering if this means we'll see it in shops soon...
  2. there's also a few things on ebay with high asking prices.. of particular hilarity is the $4,500 IJ minifig "that will never be made for a while" (link) free shipping! is it possible to search BL for the highest prices that have actually traded?
  3. perhaps this has already been seen/posted elsewhere, but starwarsshop.com has a couple of new T-shirts available for pre-order.
  4. I don't mind grievous, solely cos i'm thinking of what i could do with his parts. I kinda looked at bionicle in the same way... I don't think i'll like the new Boba at all. The helmet reminds me of the AT-AT driver in the new battle pack - for all the detail it's a little too large, the plastic a little bit wrong, and up close it just doesn't look right. Lego's charm and beauty lies in its simplicity, forcing us to imagine to interpolate the details. So imho the trend to more action figureyness is dangerous. But what would i know, they're targeting kids quite a number of years younger than me, and perhaps they know what they are doing..
  5. 8455 Back Hoe stands alone in my mind. A 'must build'. But 8865 would be the most physically challenging set. Once those old-school pieces get put together, they stay together.
  6. I read on Brickipedia that Technic was being discontinued in 2010. With all that emptied shelf space there'd be plenty of room for 13 new Agents sets.
  7. We already know they have Pirates now. That can't explain it... Toyworld's exclusive hold on Endor should be expiring soon? I doubt that explains it (yet my heart says it should). TRU in the US has Bricktober. Kmart had Bricktober here. TRU in the US has early release PM2 and Atlantis. KMart has shelf space. Mmm?
  8. KMart Marrickville Metro has (had?) 2x AT-OTs left, but fairly shelfworn boxes. $150. No temple. No fortress. They also had 5589 - the 1600-piece brickbox reduced to $79.
  9. the elusive DJs online catalogue now reveals most City and Creator sets for about 20% off rrp. As well as the exclusive... 10196 GRAND CAROUSEL $310 All on sale til 24th Dec. Does anyone know of a DJs around Sydney that has one of these on display??
  10. This is genius. But can I request a fifth limb be added?
  11. My vote: Twilight. I don't like the movie. I haven't read the books. But I think it is a brilliant idea, because: 1) apparently, the whole Twilight thing is huge. 2) vampire minifigs. I would buy any set with vampire minifigs. 3) my girlfriend, for one, would buy any set to do with Twilight. Alongside a POTC Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, she may even blossom into an AFOL.. 4) TLC may gain a new target market, and the gender ratio in these forums might start to even out. that's my two cents.
  12. Yep, i checked out and the discount was applied - the amount comes off after credit card details but before final confirmation. Indeed it is a little disconcerting cos they leave you wondering when they'll take it off. If my calculations were correct, vPost would ship the UCS Millenium Falcon for AU$150, bringing the total to about AU$600 including shipping. Then again, if you had the money, you probably would've bought it two years ago. Also, the website has a very noteworthy Chewbacca T-shirt. It doesn't have anything to do with LEGO. I just had the urge to point it out.
  13. Hello world. Long time listener, first time caller... starwarsshop.com has 25% off everything in store including LEGO. Looks like only for the next 24 hours or so. They've got a pretty interesting range of Indy and SW sets. Pretty much everything boils down to a bargain, even after big adjustment for postage. For me, this is the best way to pick up Mon Calamari / Endor / Tantive IV... Also if you have/arrange something like a vPost account, you could get 10179 UCS Millenium Falcon ~AU$450 plus shipping. I haven't the foggiest how much that shipping would be, but surely it's still cheap.
